i really liked some of the suggestions that were made. hence them being on the mix. i also made a classic country mix, which i'll update about some other time. i don't know anything about Cansei De Ser Sexy, but this is an awesome fucking song, and everyone should at lest check that one out, if nothing else on this thing. Saturday Looks Good To Me also has an amazing song on here, and i'd never heard of them before, i'd tried to make this thing. I'd heard of The New Pornographers before (mostly word of mouth and (i think) Rock Band, so they apply to the bloew statement. let me know what you think!

this was the most rewarding suggestion. i've heard Tom Waits' name too many times to not have actually listened to him. i really like this song. is this his usual vocal style? is most of his stuff on the piano? thank you so much for suggesting this in such a (seemingly stupid thread). not that i really enjoyed some of the other songs by artists i hadn't heard before (in bold, whether they were suggested on here or not) if you know these groups suggest an album!).

i bet there's some mistake in everything i just wrote. but i;m drunk! thanks for all of the suggestions! i checked most (if not all) of them out.

If you liked that song, I would suggest getting started with his earlier albums (Closing Time, The Heart of Saturday Night, and Nighthawks at the Diner) along with the album the song is on (Small Change). His voice and musical style are very, very different in his more recent albums and while some of them are still good, I found them much harder to get into before I had heard his earlier albums. I think he's one of those artists whose stuff you have to get into somewhat chronologically in order to fully appreciate him. I hope that makes sense.

you forgot the best drinking song in the world.

Carry me home - the living end. It also is one of the best guitar songs as well.

well guided by voices = any song. ... you just have to keep in mind they were drunk when they recorded whatever song. : )
