i would imagine that fifteen years ago a news story like http://www.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/asiapc...ust/index.html or the one about that german brother/sister couple would've slipped through the cracks for the most part, but these days there's a persistent and easily accessible record of the event. this makes it way easy for people to think, "you know, it seems like incest is really catching on these days. someone mentioned in a blog posts that there are two incidents in the international news floating around right now, whereas a few years ago, i didn't hear a peep about the subject." then these people will make a connection between broader support for gay rights and a perceived increase in incest, and make their own blog post to the effect of, "they warned us about societal acceptance of homosexuality causing a snowball effect in terms of moral degredation and leading to things like incest and mrhands.mpeg, and they were right!" but they aren't right. the internet just lets them think they are. the main thing i'm trying to accomplish is to get people to look up mrhands.mpeg

Prosecutors later determined that the horse, an Arabian stallion, called "Super Sam", which had apparently engaged regularly in penetrative sex acts of this kind, had not been injured by being allowed to engage in sex in this manner. The photographer, 54-year old James Michael Tait of Enumclaw,[7] was later charged with trespassing, since this act took place on a third party's property. A third man alleged to have been present was not charged as his identity was not proven by evidence. According to the Medical Examiner's Office, Pinyan "died of acute peritonitis due to perforation of the colon",[8] and the death was ruled "accidental".[9] A further source states that the stallion was owned by Pinyan, who merely boarded it at the property concerned.[10]

Other factors surrounding the death were apparently that the deceased, concerned about appearing in hospital with an unusual internal injury and the effect on his security clearance as an engineer for aerospace company Boeing, had apparently refused his friends' urging to go to the hospital for several hours after being aware he was internally injured, and was either beyond treatment or dead when he finally reached the ER.

Media reports at the time of the trial suggested that despite seizing and examining carefully a large number of such videos from the property, no evidence of abuse was found, and that the trespass charge against Tait were brought due to lack of grounds for any other matter:
