Lollapalooza 2008

Radiohead and NIN have been confirmed as Lollapalooza 2008 headliners, anyone think there's any hope of the Pumpkins making an appearance? Corgan has played with Radiohead before.

i_adore_adore 03-08-2008 10:56 PM

I don't know.

So that Chicago date on Radiohead's website is, in fact, Lollapalooza? Or are they playing another show in Chicago. I'm not really in the know with them.

Yeah, wouldn't he be in Chicago since they're building the new Pumpkinland studio?

kanph 03-09-2008 04:57 AM

they're not going to be there. lolla won't have 3 nights of "90s alt rock." even if you don't consider those bands in that genre, most people do. so for the 3rd night, it will be a hip hop act or something totally different, similar to kanye 2 years ago and daft punk last year

i hope so. this would be great :)

Pizza Club 03-09-2008 01:00 PM

Yeah, as much as I would want them to be there cause I have the $60 tix, there is really no chance they will play. For one, I doubt they would want to make it 90spalooza, and 2, I imagine they wouldn't have the budget for those 3 bands AND 100 other bands.

redbull 03-09-2008 04:56 PM

the third headliner will be a BIG rap/hip hop group. I wouldn't be surprised if they got Chemical Brothers, Portishead, or Wu-Tang Clan.

T&T 03-09-2008 05:33 PM

did someone say Chamillionaire?

MrEcks 03-09-2008 07:03 PM

Of course The Pumpkins are too big to be the third headliner, Lolla simply doesn't have that kind of budget. I'm just hoping maybe Billy will make an appearance with Radiohead, as I know they've teamed up for songs like If There is A God in the past, and we can assume the Pumpkins will be home writing and working on Pumpkinland 2.0.

redbull 03-09-2008 08:12 PM

i_adore_adore 03-09-2008 08:38 PM

I have that "If there is a God" with Radiohead MP3. I didn't know it was fake, though.

How disappointing.

ha. I don't know what's more surprising. That I've never heard this rumor, or that there are people stupid enough to believe it.

Yeah, I heard somewhere that Portishead are too. Groundbreaking artists, they are.

Cool As Ice Cream 03-10-2008 06:38 AM

redbull ftw

Quiet CD 03-10-2008 08:16 AM

Pumpkins won't play, probably because its Chicago, and no one really in the US really wants to see them headline a festival. It would only be a 90spalooza if Radiohead and NIN also stopped making good music after the 90s were over.

Cool As Ice Cream 03-10-2008 08:42 AM

LOL!

IWishIWasBlank 03-10-2008 09:40 AM

I don't know exactly what I would categorize Chemical Bros and Portishead. Where does Bjork fall?

161733 03-10-2008 11:11 AM

May wind up being Kanye again...

In the "not a headliner" category.
