Naomi Watts' new movie "Funny Games"
This looks pretty good. Maybe the first great movie of the year.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0808279/ Two psychotic young men take a family hostage in their cabin. |
The first great movie of the year was The Hottie and the Nottie.
|
it breaks the fourth wall, of characters speaking directly to the audience.

yeah funny games looks pretty good
naomi watts is always awesome and michael pitt is pretty good too. role seems like it'll fit him. |
|
this will either be pretty cool or terrible.
|
I really liked Pitt in The Dreamers and Murder By Numbers. Hope this is as good as those. I couldnt get into that one where he was playing the Kurt Cobain type guy. I think it was called Last Days. It seems like he just mumbled through the whole film.
|
i think the direction in last days sucked more than pitt's acting.

There is no reason whatsoever not to watch the original by the same director
This is a shot-for-shot remake as I understand it Which is normally filmic obscenity, but after you watch the original you'll understand why Haneke likely welcomed the chance to get more Americans to see it p.s. it's good |

I'll just put a gun in my mouth now. |

Brilliant movie [at least the original was]. Stupid American remakes.

and the movie one-sheet is one of the best in the last years too |
Love the original and love Haneke. Thought it was a joke at first that he was going to do an american remake of one of his own films. Now I'm intrigued to see the result.
