Same goes for "Is it something someone said? Was it something someone said?" as the guitars crash in adding that perfect emphasis to this question... |

i love all this love for Beautiful

there are too many to list.. this is why they remain my all time favorite band. There are amazing parts of music that i find with other bands..
2:55 when the cymbals explode in "All I Need" of the new radio head album In Rainbows is one such example. however there are so many examples like this with the pumpkins i cant even count them, or keep track of all of them. i find new little things with their music all the time still.. their songs never get old, never stale.. for me anyway that brief moment of resolve at 4:56 at the end of Obscured after a solid minute of tension building, and before falling back into tension at 5:00 has to be one of my absolute favorites, however |
one more i thought of on my plane ride this evening. During the chorus of home I love the way billy says/yells/puts emphasis on the line I, one of many more to come. its quite heart warming.
edit: oh fuck, how could i forgot the most recent moment of bliss! In 99 floors when jimmy kicks in with that drum line that fits the arrangement so perfectly. And, of course, I love when the crowd goes wild. It always puts a smile on my face. |
The cyber-metal guitar harmonic noise all through the Zero riff...love it.
|
Nice topic.
Some moment of bliss I can recall at the moment are: Smiley (2:38) Methusela (00:57 and especially 3:17 and everything that follows. Actually, I find this song blissful overall, my favourite Pumpkin song for sure.) Sad Peter Pan (3:55) Glass and the Ghost Children (Outro) 1979 ("The Speeeeeeed of sound....") |

And, of course, the I just want to beeee freeee part in 'Mayonaise'.

The entire build into the solo in Starla... and...
If Muzzle ever downloads... cmon... Basically the beginning, but it pretty much continues through the whole thing. Fucking amazing anthem rock tune. |
does noone else here think the chorus of the sacred and profane is amazing??

If I feel shitty, I can pretty much guarantee Muzzle will make me feel better. It's almost all in the Jimmy of it. Fantastic skins work.

i have to spend a day finding all of these sections of songs that you've all posted :)

The reason I fell in love with this band was the build up in Quiet then the scream into the solo. This part sums up the early 90s for me. Fucking awesome.
Plume - 1:23 - 1:40. Those notes melt my face. Especially 1:26 - 1:30 Rocket - 2:12 - 2:23 Pastichio Medley "The Groover" 3:22 - 4:03. I can listen to this on repeat for an hour straight. Nothing & Everything - build up thru the guitar solo. As for recent stuff, The whole end in Ma Belle...really the only Zeitgeist track that I got this feeling from. Theres too many more. |
the vocals in the Marquis in Spades demo. Billy, please dont give a fuck anymore like you used to.
|
that little pinch harmonic line in the mayo intro is genius.
di, di-di-di-di-di-di-di DI....*diiiiii*..... |
I'll just do a few for now, try to get some different ones:
1. Rhinoceros - after the distorted guitars kick in, and the song goes back into the octave riff 2. Quiet "Behind me grace of falling snow", with the guitar solo in the background. 3. Beautiful - the over the top crash cymbal hits near the end. 4. Mouths of Babes "And when I said you're no good, what I meant was I wish you could be there forever." 5. Ava Adore - the guitar solo 6. The Everlasting Gaze - the entire chorus, but especially "forgotten touch, forbidden thought, we can never have enough" 7. Dross - "bring it Jimmy" 8. Ma Belle - when the song picks up pace with the distorted guitar; the song from this point on is easily the best thing Billy's done since Mellon Collie. Or maybe Adore. |

I love Starla, but the part where the police car passes by is just like climaxing. |
