well it's the music library, so people can borrow LPs and listen to them here. i don't think i have the necessary equipment or skills to do a dj set, and there aren't really any students here now since nobody has class and the dorms are empty

What program did you use to create your avatar?

i don't really know how to answer that. over the last semester life has been going to class, doing homework, and getting high. i try not to associate any philosophical meaning with life, or at least with my life in particular, because that leads to an avalanche of muddy philosophical thought and none of it makes any sense to me and frankly is quite uncomfortable and ultimately meaningless

Why are bad TV shows [i.e. Lost] so popular?

Thaniel Buckner 12-19-2007 12:28 PM

has warsaw already posted way too many times in this thread.

i think you answered that question quite deftly, although I hope you know that the approach you take to life and it's meaning could, in itself, be defined as a philosophy.

Just sayin'.

Anyway, what are you doing for lunch?

the way i see it, tv has gradually drifted further and further from real life, so gradually that people don't even notice how ridiculous some of the things they see on tv are. for example, on game shows like deal or no deal, people are led to believe that the contestants are everyday, regular people and that they represent a broad slice of the population, but if you step back and think about how ridiculously exaggerated all of their actions and personality traits are and realize that these people have been selected by producers to create an exciting, dramatic atmosphere, it's easy to see that "reality tv" doesn't represent reality at all. but people can ignore that disconnect and enjoy it as if it really does portray a realistic situation.

i guess that doesn't really answer your question. but as for shows like lost, i'd say the mean IQ of the show's audience is on the lower end

i brought some ramen with me to work, so i'll cook it up in the staff lunchroom

exactlythesame 12-19-2007 12:34 PM

What flavor? I often like to mix the pouches of seasoning so that I can have chicken / beef or pepper / shrimp. Good stuff.

MonteLDS 12-19-2007 12:35 PM

what color is your toothpaste?

Thaniel Buckner 12-19-2007 12:35 PM

also do you eat what you catch or do you release.

SlingeroGuitaro 12-19-2007 12:36 PM

do you want to see warsaw's wang?

i brought a pouch of chicken. i have oriental-flavored ramen at home but i don't think that would mix well with chicken.

if it were big enough, i'd keep it and eat it for dinner, but i'm not a very good fisherman and i rarely catch anything big enough to keep. if i were out on a trip for a day or something and caught a bunch of keepers, i'd probably end up throwing them back anyway. most of the time i just don't bother to bring a cooler or ice cause it ends up being more shit to carry and it isn't worth it.

Honestly, if you mix enough, you can't taste the difference and the soup just becomes extremely salty. To offset this, I simply load it up with cayenne pepper.

Has it cooled down in Miami yet? It's about time Florida got some type of seasonal weather.

i try not to use too much flavoring because it's got so much sodium. sometimes i just eat the noodles plain.
a cold front passed through on sunday night and it's been relatively cool since then (~50F at night, ~75F during the day) but it's already warming back up and will probably be in the 80s tomorrow

I guess weather forecasts are the same throughout Florida, then. The high here is 76F.

What did you think of I Am Legend?

i generally don't follow the dolphins (i had to google "cam cameron" to find out what you were talking about) but looking at the team's record i'd say he can't be doing a very good job as a coach

i haven't seen it, but i wouldn't mind watching it. i'm a sucker for that post-apocalyptic metropolis atmosphere

SlingeroGuitaro 12-19-2007 12:49 PM

read the book after you see the movie.

exactlythesame 12-19-2007 12:49 PM

It's a pretty somber movie with some great suspense. Make sure you see it this weekend (or at least before it goes out of theaters.)

How many times do you use a towel after a shower before washing it?

2. Who's your daddy?
3. Is he rich like me?
