yes, i would imagine that having a bsee would communicate more than the fact that you know a lot about electronics.

the best way to answer this is probably with the absolute first thing that you consider (even if it barely flashes through) in the first few seconds after reading the question. too much thinking on it will probably lead to a less genuine answer (no offense). i want the real honest almost not consciously-thought-about answer:

if instead of going to college you'd said "fuck it, i'm going to go do this awesome, scary, risky thing with my life instead" what would that have been?

first answer: probably something along the lines of your road trip. i've been dying to do something like that for a few years. obviously i would have to come up with some way to finance that, either by selling my stuff or hooking up with a friend who would travel with me.

another thing maybe would have been to try to get a job on a boat as a mate and lived on that.

it's difficult to imagine because going to college has always sort of been a given for me, having done well in school all my life and being financially able to go wherever. i've never really spent a lot of time daydreaming about those things or figuring out what it would take for me to do them

Irridescent Fairysex 12-19-2007 03:26 PM

how often do you play with your machete?

how many beasts have died from it?

i don't have it anymore. when my parents moved they packed it up with the rest of their stuff and it's in storage somewhere. i think buffalo. i miss it though, and if i ever live in a bad neighborhood i'll definitely keep one by my bed.

i didn't slay any beasts with it though. i kept it mainly for agricultural and intimidation reasons

myosis 12-19-2007 03:39 PM

...which means at some point soon you're due. you're only young once and all that. take the summer after college off from serious life and do something like you mentioned.

that is the [tentative] plan. i'm thinking wherever i end up getting a job, which hopefully will be far away from miami, i'll ship whatever i can't fit in my car and loll over there during the course of a month or two and camp along the way.

I think sloths are awesome when they're swimming and moving all slow and stuff.

Your thoughts?

sloths are pretty cool. i just read that book "the world without us" in which the author talks about prehistoric giant ground sloths that were (if i remember correctly) larger than elephants and roamed the american continent eating leaves. pretty wild. they were apparently killed off by early man since they were large and slow.

Who do you think would win a fight to the death between a pig and a sheep, both male.

the sheep. he's got horns and a height advantage as well as increased mobility.

what are some of the more significant changes in your life in the last 3-5 years

It's true. A friend of mine was approached at a party a few weeks ago and asked if she wanted to "audition" for a new game show. And at the audition she was actually competing with professional actors to get through the screening process.

mxzombie, have you or a close friend ever had a paranormal experience?

-my parents moving out of the country and leaving me in miami for school
-moving in with my girlfriend and subsequently living in miami full-time as opposed to staying in my parents' old house an hour north during school breaks until they sold it
-smoking weed (didn't smoke until freshman year of college and now i generally smoke every night)

i have never had one and remain fiercely skeptical of the possibility of it happening to me or anyone else. a friend of mine once told me "i don't believe in ghosts, i know in ghosts," claiming to have had an encounter with one in the middle of the night, but i have a hard time giving any credence to his account given the lack of physical evidence

Are you more likely to die from consuming peanut butter or diet soda?

i think that's a question better posed to a physiologist or dietician, or perhaps some combination of both

redchandelier 12-19-2007 05:40 PM

^ it's diet soda, but the point of the question has to do more with how people make decisions rather than the actual answer (i.e. availability heuristic)

would you care to reflect a little on each, so we could understand the significance/impact it's had on you?
