your harddrive should be fine. you probably just have to reinstall the OS. boot it up in CD mode (i forget what button you press when you restart. C maybe?)

if you have a repair disk run the diagnositics check to see if it can be repaired. if not, boot it from an OS disk and re-install it.

this used to happen to me with early versions of OSX, but once it got to 10.2 or so, it stopped happening


but then again, maybe the HD is dead :(

I tried booting from the install disc, but it's not doing anything. I tried resetting the pram too, still nothing. Now the disc is stuck in there too. bummer.

i usually back things up, I have probably 75% of my stuff on an external drive and several dvds, but i haven't backed up in about 3 weeks or so. Bad shannon.
