Tipping threads really should be all about the lol. I see no better place for it. It's comical that you get people who could care less about world wars, the environment, religion, abortion and every other intensely heated/personal topic but in a tipping thread the real guns come out. The entire premise of the thread is irony.

If you don't discriminate while you tip, you're raising suckers of the tits of the goverment. You might think you're being compassionate when you tip a person who did a terrible job. They don't get paid much and rely on tips, so let's all fucking tip them to death. It's not like they're crippled and useless to the country. There's still hope for them. What if they were able to move on and get a honorable job? All their previous years of compassion will just get them fired in a real job. That will get us more beggars on the streets, more welfare hogs and a waste of everybody's taxes.

Oh yeah, and I think I put 4 dollars into the tip because I only had a 20 and my meal was $11.58 and only got 4 dollars of change. I really didn't want to make a big scene, but I got fucked over and everyone else got fucked over and I'll never eat with any of them again nor go to shitty Ruby's.

I usually tip pretty well, but if the service is so bad I don't want to leave any tip at all, then I go to a manager. I know it sucks, and I've had it happen to me in my current (and previous) job(s), but c'mon. If the service is that shitty or the server is rude? The manager needs to know that person is doing a SHITTY job or having a bad day and needs to go home.

I've had to go to a manager/left zero tip on 5 occasions. Servers must see me and instantly think, "Shitty tipper", and ignore me... so it's a self-fulfilling prophecy. I tip well, unless you treat me like I am invisible. Ugh.
