Thanks for not disappointing. I really feel bad for you if you really are a fan of the team and cannot appreciate a win against the Cowboys in fucking Texas. Sure, Donovan had an alright game but nobody in their right mind is going to be praising him, except for maybe not fumbling the football or throwing five interceptions, because he did not win that game. Our defense, which has been more consistent this season (with an obvious exception of our last game against Dallas) than our offense despite all the injuries, won that game along with Brian Westbrook. Not McNabb. I am by no means saying the Eagles are good right now, they're too inconsistent to be good, but they're not going to be great every year. Yeah, maybe McNabb came back too early but that is far from the only problem they've had this year. If the Eagles turn you into the same whiny "fan" who bitches about the same three things after every game then maybe you should just stop fucking watching. Actually, since you found that Flyers / Devils game more interesting, I hope you missed Brian Westbrook downing the ball at the one because you would have probably just bitched about how he can't score touchdowns anymore.

bring back rep

come on, guy that doesnt matter, grossman is the example

not that romo is anywhere nearly as "bad" as that guy, but come on.

He had a QB rating of like 22.1 or something Grossman-esque at the end of the game. I laughed. Oh, how I laughed.

I would respect the Eagles more if they had the balls to cut McNabb like he should have been a few years ago and bring in a legit quarterback and provide him with halfway decent wideouts.

I don't agree with your statement that the Eagles should've had the balls to cut him a couple years ago, until his injury last year and the team's revival under Jeff Garcia they had no reason to before. But after that injury last year (What was that, his third season-ending injury in his career?) not to mention the injury this year, and the fact that he really shows no signs of turning to his old self, I feel the Eagles would be making a mistake, just pushing back an imminent "rebuilding" period. In years past I would defend McNabb, understanding how the team which always brags about having x-amount of dollars in cap space screwed him over by giving him bad receivers to throw to...Todd "Stink"ston, James "Trash," Freddie Mitchell. After all the injuries, seeing that he's more inaccurate than ever, and taking Eagles' fans reactions way too personally (since the day he was drafted), I think it'd be best for both the Eagles and McNabb, if they let him go.

I know, I know, I'm a bit too critical and negative about the Eagles nowadays. I've just had it with the whole team, from McNabb and Andy Reid to the team's management, which somehow has the audacity to claim that this franchise is "the gold standard" in the league because for years they were one of the top teams in the NFL all while maintaining a lot of cap space. Despite all the talk from the organization, this team's management style seems to me be a lot like the Phils, where they build a good team but are never willing to make that one move to get 'em over the hump.

I guess my problem might be that I'm just not an Eagles fanatic (I'm not, for instance, a jackass who'll tailgate outside the Linc all day- snow, rain, or shine- in a $20 parking spot every game). I don't care for the Eagles anymore than I do the Phillies, Flyers, and Sixers.

Seriously? Because a few years ago was when he had his best year ever. He's always struggled with his completions but other than the one year with T.O., he's not really had somebody to throw it to. Back then he ran much more also. What exactly would make him legit? I mean, he's no Tom Brady, but I think considering Philly's options (Feeley? One of the Detmers? Mike fucking McMahon?) over the years he looks like the obvious choice to stick with.

Romo is overrated. People are talking about him like he's the next Farve for Christ's sake. He is not the next Farve. This is his first full year starting. He's having a great year but thats really all that needs to be said. Also take a look at his receivers/TEs. All great tall receivers and Witten, one of the best pass catching TEs in the league. He's also got a pretty good one/two punch of a running game as well. Also don't forget that the Cowboys routinely have one of the biggest and best offensive lines in the league.

Bill Parcells did a hell of a job creating this team.

McCollum 12-19-2007 03:24 AM

That being said, I loved seeing them lose to the Eagles and Tony Romo having his smirk beat the fuck off his face.
