So what do you know about the politics of ancient Greece?

Specifically concerning religion, but other areas are welcomed.

Trotskilicious 12-14-2007 07:52 AM

i avoided greeks and romans because they've been done to death and i don't care

duovamp 12-14-2007 08:45 AM

Yeah well I'm done with the paper, so I can't even make use of your not-help. Thanks a lot!

But even if the Greeks and Romans weren't done to death, then you still wouldn't like them anyway?

Trotskilicious 12-14-2007 08:47 AM

you really haven't figured out how fucking useless this shit is yet have you

duovamp 12-14-2007 08:57 AM

If I ever get into a political argument it might have some relevance, but other than that I never expect anything I learn that doesn't directly pertain to my future career to be without any importance. I'd just like to know some stuff for that end alone. Who cares if you never use it?

What do you mean by the "politics concerning religion" and what period of ancient Greece?

duovamp 12-14-2007 02:26 PM

From 750 BC to 500 AD. I wrote it about how religious beliefs affected Greek politics in said time period.

jczeroman 12-14-2007 02:31 PM

what the.... technically 500 AD would not be considered antiquity. Also, the Hellenistic period (last truly "Greek" period) ended around 100BC. After 100BC, you have Roman religion and broader pantheism in Greece. Before that you have a wide number of things. I would narrow down your period and also be go for a specific policy or something.

duovamp 12-14-2007 02:35 PM

That's the range we were given, I didn't write on that whole period. The text defined the area as "roughly early Greek through early medieval" but I just generalized for the hell of it.

Trotskilicious 12-14-2007 05:37 PM

that is a very broad time period

BumbleBeeMouth 12-15-2007 12:14 AM

indeed, early medieval even spans the byzantine empire, albeit in its early incarnations. That was greek, essentially.

Trotskilicious 12-15-2007 11:49 AM

i just fell asleep

you know what's cool the mosquito coast

duovamp 12-15-2007 12:27 PM

Could they have given it a more unappealing name?

The internets just told me that it comes from Miskito, though. Why do you mention it?

Trotskilicious 12-15-2007 01:02 PM

fuck you!!!!!!!!!

duovamp 12-15-2007 01:08 PM

dean_r_koontz 12-15-2007 01:18 PM

do they have journals for this stuff where they post scientific articles about the latest findnings in how religion had an impact on greek politics during time period x?
