Trotskilicious 12-13-2007 07:53 AM

i didn't read wintersmith

night watch was the best of the three you mentioned that i read. monsterous regiment was pretty awful.

Trotskilicious 12-13-2007 07:54 AM

the last pratchett book i really liked was the Thief of Time.

you should read wintersmith. it's kind of nice how he builds up tiffany aching as a sort of granny weatherwax successor. and any story with nac mac feegles in it is great per definition

i think it's easier to start with one of the "later" books, perhaps guards! guards! or small gods, than with the first ones. i think his flow got better with them and it makes it easier to find the way into his universe

smashingjj 12-13-2007 08:12 AM

i can't read cause i'm retarded and don't have an attention span

Trotskilicious 12-13-2007 09:36 AM

Interesting Times is really good, and if you've already read the Colour of Magic it's pefect, really. Early Pratchett basically is just fantasy parody but later pratchet is pretty solid pop satire that leaves nothing unskewered. The middle times with Interesting Times and Small Gods is probably his golden years. There's some great guards misteries in there like Feet of Clay and Men-at-Arms. Carpe Jugulum is a pretty great witches book, even though I think most of the witches stuff drags pretty hard sometimes. I like the vampires in that book, especially since the younger vampires like to dress like accountants and call themselves Harold. Anything with Susan in it is awesome. even if Soul Music is kind of silly even for pratchett. Love the hell out of Hogfather, one of his creepiest and best villains Mr. Teatime, and the aforementioned Thief of Time.

Night Watch is one of my favouritest fiction books. I hope his alzheimer's isn't painful and that it makes him senile and funny to his family.

All maths teachers are deadly frightened about Alzheimer's. I figured it out after noting how many times mr. Barret mentions it and the fact that it's in all five of my textbooks

Trotskilicious 12-14-2007 06:18 AM

i didn't miss you for one second, ever

Ever 12-14-2007 06:20 AM

Trotskilicious 12-14-2007 06:21 AM

Ever 12-14-2007 06:23 AM

Ever 12-14-2007 06:26 AM

Well it doesn't matter it'll be a while before I come back properly anway as in for a longer stay. Enjoy yourself trotskilicious.

Trotskilicious 12-14-2007 06:26 AM

Warsaw 12-14-2007 06:27 AM
