Research paper about the rise of the NFL and TV

How's this for a potential thesis idea for my History of American Sport class:

The rise of television as a viable medium is one of the biggest, if not the biggest reasons for the NFL becoming the multi-billion dollar nationwide brand it is today.

Seriously...I really should be working on this right now, but I'm on two different antibiotics that have crappy side effects, and I can't think straight...so naturally, I'm posting here.

For the record, the sport history class wasn't as great as I hoped it would be. It was basically a sociology class...we didn't talk about the development of leagues and teams and why they came to be or anything like that...it was mostly about race and gender and class issues in sport. I'm actually astonished my teacher said I could do a semester project about the business of sport, seeing as we spent almost no time on the subject in class. I half expected her to tell me to write a paper about Jewish women in the Olympics or something like that.

Bleah. Only one more week until this is all over.

If I wanted to get drunk on campus, I'd go to the East Hall studio and hang out with my friend who is an art major.

I'd like to do something else, but I really don't have the time, so I'm running with what I've got. She only gave us a couple of weeks to do this damn thing; whereas my last major semester assignment (a 15-page paper about Agent Orange) took half a semester to craft together, and I'm damn proud of the end result of that endeavor.

I wanted to do a project about the 10-Year-War between Schembechler and Page, but she wouldn't let me (two people in my class are doing projects about college football, and she didn't want our info "overlapping", or something like that).
