1 Dead, 8 Burned in San Diego County Fires

One civilian has been killed, four civilians have been burned and four firefighters have been burned in a fire in East San Diego County. The firefighters have been airlifted to the UCSD Burn Center.

One house has been destroyed. 50 to 100 homes remain threatened.

300 firefighters are responding to the blaze, which has consumed an estimated 2500 acres.

The fire started across the Mexican border in Tecate, and is burning in a westward direction. Evacuations have been ordered in Potrero.

A second fire has burned 3000 acres between Ramona and Stanta Ysabel near Julian. Structures are threatened.

there's supposed to be a santa ana wind event the next couple days, gusts as high as 60 mph in the LA Basin, 80 mph in the canyons and passes. supposed to be 100 on tuesday here in the SGV. THAS NOT GOOD

the fires are fucking awful. today in irvine i was walking around the uci center and could barely breathe, luckily the fire went near the foothill area. blasting the air conditioning currently.
