you know i keep trying to give baseball a shot because i know that people like it and shit and i want to like it too so I have something to like over the summer but dammit! nothing happens and when stuff does happen it's always when i've been bored to death by stuff not happening so i'm not paying attention

This isn't an unreasonable assertion. Baseball can get painfully dull at times. That's not to say football is always exciting, but I'd rather see a hard-hitting defensive struggle in football than a baseball game where batters keep hitting foul balls 5, 6 times per at-bat.
