Oh, come on, you bunch of bleeding hearts! I remember when someone posted that story about a girl getting gang-raped, no one seemed nearly as bothered. You'll cry over a cute little kitty and feel all warm and fuzzy and self-righteous, but when it comes to real human suffering, you reveal who you really are: callous, selfish, and unable to work up feelings for anyone but yourselves.

Yeah, we all had fun in that gang-rape thread. The hilarity!

I was pretty bothered about the girl who was gang-raped. I remembered reading it in the newspaper, and I was sick about it too. Granted, some people are desensitized toward human sufferring, but that's because it's drilled into us day after day on the news. It's not real to us until it hits close to home. But you know, caring is caring, even if we may discriminate alittle on the topics we care for. I don't think this makes us self-righteous or anything. And granted, some people, like myself may not be outraged if something such as a baby roach were on that grill, but I wouldn't go as far as to make it suffer, nor would I want to make anything suffer.

I just don't think it's right to make people feel bad for caring, and I like this post because people CARE. Do you realize how rare that is on Netphoria?

Cats are evil

Well, last night there was a story on my local news about some kids who set a cat on fire. A lady heard the cat screaming and went outside and saw the kids running away. They showed the cat at the vets. It was horribly burned on its right side (and heavily sedated). It was so sad. It is one thing to read about the bbq'd cat but another to actually see a video of a burned cat. Quite sad. Just thought I'd share that with you.
