I totally agree with you on this matter. I see it even in my own parent's house. My brother is really mean to my cat I've had since I was 5 years old. I love her to pieces and I just cringe when I see him pick her up up-side down, kick her, throw stuff at her and just intentionally be cruel to her. I always yell at home, but he has no soft spot for animals..rather life in general.
