a serious reply to johns post... what a concept.

Ok... std's aside pregnancy happens often on the pill, shot, whatever. I was with a girl who was a virgin... i had been with one other girl and had been tested since so i was like sweeeeeeeeeet sex4me with no condom! Score! So whatever shes on the pill things are good... fuckin senior year with a chick i dig, great sex, no condom....... then she doesnt get her period... not so much scared now but concerned.... shit goes on for a month late.... 6 weeks late... pregnancy test comes out negative but still no period. So finally we go to the doctor.

Apparently claritin with her pill made it fuck up her period. Doctor said any medication can have some weird effects on a case to case basis and that could have opened the way for a baby Pk. Fucked up ehh?

Point being in the end don't chance it man. Yes if she has no stds, you're a virgin, and shes on brith control odds are in your favor but you don't wanna be the exception. Having a baby ****** probably wouldn't be the worst thing in the world but it sure isn't gonna make the next 18 years of your life too awful much fun. Nor would the outside chance she had a dormant std or you had one that didnt show up on a test that you gave to each other.

If you insist go get tested. Both Niki and myself had a friend (she was better friends with him) who found out he had AIDS.... really a fucked up feeling when someone you know and hang out with gets it. Puts in to prespective (at least on my part) about being careless.

^click that... theres a link to find a testing site near you.

as far as I know you ask for a standard test and they'll test you for the really bad infections, such as HIV and Hepatitis. all other types of STDs, such as herpes and gonnoreah, you can tested for but the thing with those diseases are that they are easily treatable. if you discover that this chick has given you herpes it isn't the end of the world, since it is treatable. it is the bad diseases you always have to check for

bittertrance 04-23-2002 01:24 AM

plug her, then tell her to get tested

voila!

they don't do that for the HIV/Hepatitis test, its a normal blood test

Folladori 04-23-2002 02:06 AM

Just do it in the butt. Simplicity.

uhhh ... why hasn't anyone said anything about these comments yet?? There are MANY reasons to be on the pill - this topic has been discussed here several times before. I've been on it for 4 years and have never had sex.

Call me silly, but she's the one who needs to get tested, not you.
You don't have shit.
She on the other hand could have anything.

If you choose to fuck her, she could be infecting you, not vice versa......

why be on it if you don't have sex? its pointless. if you're taking it to control acne you should get something else, which would be more effective, if you're taking it just to regulate your period then I don't think thats a very good reason. you are putting a drug into your body that you don't need to. the pill actually eats up nutrients in your body, so you always have to take certain vitamins as well.

I am taking it because without it I end up with ovarian cysts the size of golf balls. (ouch!) It also reduces the risk of certain kinds of cancers if you are on it for a stretch of years at some point early on -- that doesn't mean all women should take it, but it certainly does pay if a woman is at extremely high risk (me, again).

ok fair enough, sorry, didn't know about that

How about you guys go get tested together? She probably just wants a clean bill of health on your part before you two get naughty, and you should expect the same from her. Ask her questions about her pills, like when she takes them, etc. Ask to see them. Get to know how reliable she is with taking them.

And... if she's on antibiotics for whatever reason, keep your penis out of her. They make the pill useless.

It was just an inference. When you know that a girl is on the pill, you infer that she's been sexually active before. I'm sure there are other cases, such as yours, which is something I've never heard of before. It just seems to me that the vast majority of girls on birth control are or have been sexually active.

don't be ignorant. Despite the name STD's arent always sexually transmitted... gotta take into account how many times in your life you've been poked with a needle. Namely early 80's when he was a baby, care with needles wasnt as deep as it is now. John could have an STD that is dormant in his body but when transfered to another person could be active. Just because you've never had sexual penetration it doesn't exclude you from having an std.

If it's a mutual feeling that you wanna have sex together then go get tested together.

This is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks, clint. Really.

Course, if you hate needles, you could always just plow her and hope for the best.

No, honestly, do the condom thing, at least, and do get tested if you're really at all concerned. If she isn't da big v, then she should too. But if both of you are, there really shouldn't be a problem.

Agreed. All the pill is, really, is estrogen and progesterone, which the female body has in abundance anyway.
Many doctors are now reccomending many women take it to skip the period and conserve blood.

If either of you have any piercings or tattoos, all the more reason to have your blood screened.

Remember, she has no way of actually knowing that your a virgin. And going by your word alone can obviously get her in trouble. Make a date of it!

nope, I think you'll find I'm half right. just because I don't have periods doesn't mean I don't read up on these things. taking the pill is something quite disruptive in the female body, it doesn't just affect your period, it effects everything in your body. you'll find that once you've been on the pill for more than 4 months you can start to look gaudy or feel unhealthy. that is because the nutrients in your body have been eaten up by the pill you are taking, it is important to take multi-vitamins(preferably without st john's wart) to make sure there are enough B group vitamins going into your system.
don't forget the other side effects the pill is capable of. the type of progestrogen in the pill you take can easily make you overweight after a long period of time.
let's not forget that the pill has been linked to heart attacks and thrombosis.

so don't tell me that the pill is ok for everyone to take. it isn't, it is a syntehtic drug that you are putting into your body and it affects everything. if you're a perfectly healthy girl and you just want to take the pill to control your period then that is pretty pointless unless you are having sex. after a few months you would be wishing you hadn't taken it in the first place because of the way it can easily make you unhealthy. females that need it to control ovary defects etc. are a different story.
but as I was saying, I know ammy and silverstream think 'shut the fuck up you don't know what its like to be a woman to go through menstruation, you're just a clueless fucking male'....you can think that, but I've read up on these things and I'm informed.
