Merging tracks into a single file typically isn't a problem. Are you trying to work from the Church Audio Cardioid Mics > Church Audio STC-9000 > Iriver H120 source at the LMA? I don't see any other known audio sources listed on the SLPRA

I'm downloading this source now and will look at the files. Obviously it's incomplete, missing the few minutes of US, but if I can seamlessly join the files would that help? If there is any alternate audio for the cut portion I could splice that in as well.

redbull 05-22-2008 02:06 PM

Monte, what app did you use to rejoin? I hear good things about wavmerge, but I believe it is command line only.

Day dreaming Of Darcy 05-22-2008 02:52 PM

xACT will also rejoin files on a mac with little effort.

I'm looking at the files on the LMA and the track splits are seamless. I'm guessing the problem lies in the fact that the taper was forced to stop recording during US. We'd need an alternate recording to splice in, or at a minimum align it with the video and insert silence.

My dvd editing knowledge is limited, but I was under the impression it was better to align short segments of audio (1-2 tracks maybe?) with the video rather than try and stretch or shrink the unsplit file?

MonteLDS 05-22-2008 03:50 PM

I used audition to link them

And yes it does go out of sync.

As of now the july 15th show will not have any of United States till I can find a full version of that song.

The audio gets out of synce after or during tonight tonight and continues to get worst evey song.

MonteLDS 05-22-2008 03:55 PM

And no it is better to do it all in one big segament. Both utah and july 16th were super easy to sync and stayed in sync that I only had to resync if I had a buffer error

Again, I'm not the most knowledgable, but I would consider this just being lucky. It's very rare two pieces of equipment will record at exactly the same rate and Time Code is expensive for a reason. This is why I've always known people to sync audio and video in segments.

My suggestion... pm cabbage.

Bobbin TB 05-22-2008 05:26 PM

i forget the proper terminology but if the track isnt split right along the segment (or whatever its called), it will be filled with a split second of silence, that will get worse as it goes on. i bet the person who did the original splitting split it that way.

MonteLDS 05-22-2008 07:09 PM

That was my guess too. When I tried to sync audio from tracks from your audio it sucked doing track by track. But the second I got the full audio. Wooo it was easy

MonteLDS 05-23-2008 12:33 AM

Not going say much about that same recording rate..

but so far i have done it with a Sony DAT & a Edirol R-09

no issues at all

redbull 05-23-2008 01:52 AM

Monte, consider syncing between buffer errors, ie if you have 25 minutes of video without buffer errors, take the corresponding audio and stretch/shrink it to match the length of the video

Hello:

The tracks were split with CDwave which splits tracks on sector boundaries so there are no sector boundary errors in these files.

Hi:

I taped this show and have the show as one long track. However, the length is exactly the same for the single track as the split tracks, so I don't know if it will resolve your sync problem. I'd be happy to upload it to you though.

If I could make a suggestion, my source for United States has 9 minutes of the song - there are only 2 or 3 minutes missing. If you are unable to find an alternate audio source you could:

a. Use your video sound but put the volume very low.

b. Have silence during the missing audio.

c. Cross fade your video so you cut out the video during the missing audio.

Because the song is so awesome and because my source has 9 minutes of the song, it seems a shame to cut out the whole song due to the missing 2 or 3 minutes.

Just a suggestion.

MonteLDS 06-10-2008 01:55 PM

If I can get united states from you with the cut as a seperate track that be great. The issue with the split tracks is that when I try to plaster them together it leaves a tiny short ammount of space between the tracks.
I would love to get the audio w/o track splits. I most likely will fade out during guitar changes every 3 songs if I find it to be a problem.
Please pm me and I'll get the dvd done within 72 hrs of the time I get the full audio. You can split the encores as seperate tracks.

IWishIWasBlank 06-11-2008 09:18 AM

Monte what's the easiest way to find all of your torrents? Search you on tradersden etc etc, or the LMA? (Yes I know LMA isn't torrents, gah.)

MonteLDS 06-11-2008 10:00 AM

For the fillmore shows the torrents are on the first page
For the utah show the torrent is on its respective thread.

IWishIWasBlank 06-11-2008 06:16 PM

Thanks Monte. And grow your hair long.

FIFY

IWishIWasBlank 06-12-2008 08:58 AM

That's the risk you take when you post videos of yourself on the web, Monte.

BTW I just got around to watching the interview vid. Previously I didn't have the codecs and could only listen to it. Thanks for taping it. It was good.

MonteLDS 06-14-2008 12:01 PM

I got the audio for the 15th show yesterday. I have started to sync the video & audio, I will have it ready to be downloaded by Monday or late Fathers Day.. its been really easy to sync, thanks to the no track split file. And how do you like this shot of Lisa :)

davin 06-14-2008 01:05 PM

thanks monte -- keep up the good work. we all owe you big time.
