The Bill Engvall Show

Is this the worst show on TV?

Ex A: Bill Engvall plays a therapist.

Ex B: When Bill Engvall told his buddy they were going to Maui for a family vacation, his buddy told him "Maui Wowie!"

Ex. C: Then, the hilarity continued when Bill's buddy said "yeah, my wife's an island girl, too." Bill said "isn't she from Korea?" "Korea's an island, right?" "No, it's a peninsula." "You're not going to give me a hard time about one side of water right?"

I mean, this is brutal. I learned the above in the first 30 seconds. He also advised some of his patients not to communicate through "Blackberrys or blueberries or whatever."

I can only imagine the depths to which this show sinks.

Up next on the Nashville Network Ron White in his new hit animated series "Tater Salad!"

it's actually really fun to watch for the purpose of analysis

i just cracked a smile, actually, when bill had to make a hard decision and the son said to him "i'm so glad i'm not you right now"

followed by a huge roar from the laugh track, i imagine.

i watched about a minute of that show The Winner that was on Fox for maybe two weeks, and the laugh track was ridiculous. maybe i'm just used to not seeing them anymore....but it doesn't stad out nearly as much on, say, seinfeld.

The laugh track should have been abolished a decade ago, but at least it's starting to get phased out a bit. I'm guessing it'll be pretty much gone in 50 years, but surely there will still exist bad humor, so I dunno.

Bob Engvall is the worst comedian I ever had to witness...i cant stand any of them southern hick type comedians.... i guess u have to live there.. but he is by far the worst... howd he get his own show seriously? talkin about some free range chicken... what the hell?

Nimrod's Son 07-25-2007 06:03 PM

seinfeld was filmed before a live studio audience

i always thought that they only actually did that every once in a while...not for every episode. don't know why i thought that though.

does any show do that anymore?

you mean sometimes the popularity of a comedian isn't directly proportional to the quality of his act?

what an amazing theory you've stumbled upon, and i here i thought Bill Hicks was the biggest seller at wal-mart

next you'll be telling me mcdonalds is the most popular fast food chain in the world High School Musical was the best selling album last year

right because there's no way "boring safe mundane comedy" would appeal to a broad and lucrative audience. you are right, that is highly shocking.

no kidding. i went with a bunch of guys from work out on their boats to some flats by key biscayne to bully net lobster. the mini season opened at midnight that night. one of the dudes is a mechanic and a redneck and that song was the first thing he played on his radio when we started heading out.
