Has anyone slept on your couch for a long period of time?

sleeping there every night.

it gets on my nerves because i have to be up early and like to turn on the lights in the living room, and that pisses her off apparently when i leave the kitchen light on.
i think its really gross because the couch does not have sheets, and her dead skin cells and hair and body sweat are just sinking into that side of the couch.

oh and yeah she has a perfectly good bedroom she could be sleeping in. i just don't get why someone would sleep on a couch instead of a bed. claustrophobia? ugh

Only expected guests who were visiting for like, say, a week-- nothing too big. I would never allow it under any other circumstance, unless it was a family member or very, very close friend.

Wait, so she actually lives there? That's strange... But I'm not really one to talk considering every day between the hours of 3 AM and 5 AM I wake up and can't get back to sleep unless I literally relocate myself-- which is usually to the couch. Sometimes it's nice to sleep on something firm with edges, at least that's how I am.

yeah i am trying not to say the dreaded word, but she is the roommate.

she started it after i went home to recover for a month and i just recently talked to her friend from work who was saying how crazy she was without me here. saying she was talking to herself and begging anyone to come over how she couldn't be alone for too long or something. i dunno.

i mean its the couch i'm going to be taking with me and living on in the future you know, so it's just kinda gross to me that its gonna have her imprint pretty much and she totally doesn't consider how gross it is to not have sheets and clean things that you switch out/wash. i think i'm the only one who actually washes the blankets/throws whatever you call 'ems that she drapes herself in all day.

i go back and forth saying maybe i'm being retarded and i haven't said anything but if she bitches AT ALL anymore about me leaving the light on ill go off. i just can't wait to get out of here.

kristin xp 07-10-2007 03:05 PM

not to mention her phone alarm is louder from the living room than from her room with the door closed, but it hasn't' woken me up when i didn't need to be awake. just annoying.

why dont you ask her why she has been sleeping on the couch, doenst sound like too weird of a question

kristin xp 07-10-2007 03:14 PM

i have.
she just says 'that's just where i fall asleep' and i'm like 'isn't this bad for your back' and she says 'no not really i just fall asleep here and i like it'
and then i :erm: and walk away

waltermcphilp 07-10-2007 03:19 PM

just put a whole bunch of shit on there so she can't sleep on it.

Yeah, this actually works... I can't count how many times I've sleepily walked into the living room only to find the couch covered in shit from the night before. I usually opt for the floor or back to the bed. Who knows how effective this would be if she actually goes to bed on the couch, though, know what I mean? It could open up a whole 'nother can of problems that Kristin has to make threads about.

kristin xp 07-10-2007 03:31 PM

no that's what happens. she watches tv in there and just falls asleep on the couch. plus she'd just move shit if i left it on there.
i should hide a fork in the cushion lol

Shapan 07-10-2007 03:40 PM

move the tv

Future Boy 07-10-2007 03:45 PM

I used to sleep on the couch, then came the day I was bumped up to a cot with no mattress. That was a good day.

yeah but the weird thing is that she has a bed in her room and sleeping in there would prevent the whole bothersome leaving the light on in the kitchen thing

waltermcphilp 07-10-2007 04:00 PM

turn her bed into a giant dirty clothes hamper.

KrazeeStacee 07-10-2007 04:09 PM

My old roommates slept on the couch and one on the lazy boy chair. They had a room with one bed in it but they used that to keep their dirty clothes on and instead used the living room as their bedroom.

theFoulLasagna 07-10-2007 04:29 PM

just tell her you want to sleep on the couch from now on, then after she goes to bed and goes to sleep, you can just go to your bed.

Toby 07-10-2007 04:29 PM

My best friend slept on my couch for probably 3 months and then I slept on his couch for a few months.

kristin xp 07-10-2007 04:30 PM

i think its some weird claustrophobia thing where she doesn't like being alone in a room.
she even can't take it when i'm on the phone for a while in the room with her, she either gets on it herself or talks to me as i'm talking to someone else forcing me to leave the room.

Toby 07-10-2007 04:30 PM

I snore pretty bad sleeping on a couch because I have to sleep on my back :(

KrazeeStacee 07-10-2007 04:50 PM

Kristin I think you're just doomed to live with people who have habits that irritate you.

kristin xp 07-10-2007 04:51 PM

nah after this i'm doing a psych screen or living alone.

I'm so glad you're my friend and not Julio's, Dom.

waltermcphilp 07-10-2007 04:53 PM

carve a pumpkin, stab a knife into it with a note that says "you". leave it on the couch.

kristin xp 07-10-2007 04:59 PM

i'm going to start leaving weird things in the couch starting with a fork and maybe a can of peaches

what else
