A lot of you Corgan haters need to forgive yourselves, only then can you forgive others...including Billy. It's like you hate him for being happy. Zeitgeist has a good balance of light and heavy pop rock. Kill yourselves please!

Well...

A chap that liked the Pumpkins in the old days, then got sick of them, got a hold of the leak, and emailed me saying that he thought it was the best fucking thing the Pumpkins have ever done. He's not necessarily a Pumpkins fan, but he loves this "Zeitgeist" thing. Now, I don't agree with the "best album" thing, but I can see why he loves it.

Another friend...whose favorite albums ******* SD and Mellon Collie, but who became disenchanted with Adore, agrees. He loved making fun of Zwan and TFE (particularly "I'm Ready"), and has hated Corgan for perhaps being able to give him what he wants - and JUST NOT (some Machina II songs and the live songs from the Machina period were much admired by him) - but this, this "Zeitgeist" deal, for him is as good as the Pumpkins are. And he IS a Corgan fan (though not a message board guy)...with faith renewed.

Anyway - these are examples of two listeners that are more casual than netphorians. And I'm listening to this thing...I cannot really complain about it. Lyrics? Eh...but "Zeitgeist" is like great sex, and you don't need to talk well great during great sex. Production? The objective science of sound design means little when you're banging your head euphorically...(hell...think of "Raw Power").
