Why do ants smell bad when you squish them?
"smell bad squish ants" isn't really returning a lot of results on Google.
We don't have an ant problem per se, but there have been a few roaming around the inside of our cabinets for no particular reason. I can't resist squishing them. It's almost turning into an obsessive compulsive desire to sniff my hands after each ant I squish. The smell, in turn, grosses me out and I have to wash my hands immediately. Ugh. :erm: |
Well I heard that the smell is what the ant uses to tell other ants to come and help it or investigate why it died.

same thing happens if you do that to people

what does the inside of a human being smell like?
|
Like a side of unrefridgerated beef mixed with feces and metal. In addition, the viscera is so damp that it immediately ups the humidity of the immediate area so you get a warm wet blast of this nasty smell that lingers in your hair and on your clothes. Burnt human smells even worse.

smells like pig!

I think it has something to do with their diet of cabbage and sprouts.

New nickname: Ant Sniffer.

Have you ever seen leaf-cutter ants in action? I'd be scared to squish those with my hands, folic acid or not.
