just scoff. lol

i can't say you're wrong.
i've just always considered Sonic Youth to be the prime example of the most innovative band. but maybe they aren't. it's all relative really.

Effloresce 12-05-2006 10:49 PM

It's ok. They still are. I can't expect them to top their best days, but then again, why would I? They still rock.

Anyway, enough of that argument.

because im not wrong.

SY are the most innovative band ever, i agree with you there. They are by far my favorite band.
Im not saying i hate Rather Ripped, its just not a good SY album.

what i do hate though is when people just scoff, instead of expressing their own opinion against mine.

Effloresce 12-05-2006 10:52 PM

Serena-Maneesh - Candelighted

don't get so worked up, i agree with you, i was just surprised by your response, it was in no way meant to be offensive -I will readily admit i'm not the most knowledgeable person when it comes to music... I've just always had this view of Sonic Youth, and was surprised to see that view dismissed. so out came Jesus.

You seem to know a lot about music for your age. Don't underestimate yourself just because of your opinion of one SY album. We all agree more than disagree about the band, so let's just leave it there.

Hot hot heat - you owe me an IOU

I'm Hardcore 12-05-2006 10:58 PM

Yeah it was hard for me to. I was torn between Goo, Daydream Nation, Dirty, and Evol.

But I'm pretty sure Goo is my favorite.

edit: Sister is awesome too.

Titanium Expose kicks ass. Disappearer, man, that's just a mindblowing track.

Do you guys have their DVD? It's pretty cool.

The live ones I have are a folky more acoustic version - no noise or anything (9/20/2002). The entire song is structured differently.
The other one is like the album but kinda different for the live show I guess.

I like the song both ways though. Love it on the album too. One of my favorite Wilco songs. Top 3.

From the album Effloresce. :D

One of the best albums of the decade. It has traces of My Bloody Valentine, Swervedriver, Smashing Pumpkins, Radiohead, Massive Attack, and Soundgarden all over the place, and executed brilliantly.
