Delone Catholic High School in McSherrystown, Pennsylvania, for example, held a fundraiser for victims of Hurricane Katrina called "Stop the Bop." The school played the song before classes begin in the morning, and between each period over the school PA system. The playing of this song was only stopped when the school raised $3,000 for hurricane relief and the school thereby "stopped the bop." I've hated this decade since the day it began. The 1990s were infinitely superior.

No kidding, I didn't actually realize we'd sped through this decade until I came into this thread. Honestly, 2000 does not seem like it was 7 years ago. When I graduate college, it will be 2008. Jeeeez.

this decade has given me a Texas Longhorns National Championship so I reject any notion that the 90s were better.

The 90's had FF7. In the 90's, the greatest video game ever was made.

Here I thought it was either Madden or Civilization III. Maybe even Baldur's Gate. But I guess those games don't resolve conflict via submenus so they can't possibly be good.

Civ. IV was pretty beautiful. The day it came out a bunch of guys in my dorm and I passed those CDs around like currency then we played into the wee hours of the morning for weeks... Our grades reflected our dedication to crushing each other.

i would wreck shop if i played multiplayer. i think it would only be fun on a LAN though.

duovamp, I'm with you. The 90s sucked, but at least there was FF7. I will seriously love that game until I die. I'm going to make my children play that shit.

We played it through LAN, of course. Have you ever heard the Demons & Wizards cover of Immigrant Song? It's pretty rockin'.
FF7 was the most beautiful game I ever saw, plus every character was cool (perhaps sans Cait Sith...), and it had a great story and it was fun. It was the perfect RPG and the best game ever made. It makes me sad that there will never be a game better than it, but it makes me happy because I played it.

Games like that you need to play when they're new to fully appreciate... My friend's brother, who is 12, played it and the little jerk thought it was merely okay. I hate when that happens. It was completely lost on him. The kid's an idiot though, so a REAL gamer would've appreciated it.

I once had a girlfriend who also recognized that FF7 was the greatest game ever made. She wanted an FF7 wedding, something I'd be down for... but she was sucky. Couldn't tolerate her otherwise. Her problem was that she was too much like me, which is never a good thing.

FF7 was cool but it looks like ass. FF6 was 2d and it looks good still.

can't say that about the GIANT FOREARM DISORDER characters.
