I think it's probably closer to 10 years. SBC started off doing Borat and a camp fashion guru called Bruno and then went onto Ali G.

I was stunned when the americans on this board started going on about how funny Ali G was a couple of years ago, cause he'd already been out here for years.

Well... Ali G hit HBO like 5 or so years back and is when us Americans first got our taste of him on a regular basis.

I had heard about him prior through the drum and bass community and the brits going on about Cohen but didnt see anything by him till HBO.
