The Pittsburgh Penguins Will Win the Atlantic

FACT.

Malkin is the real deal. The Crosby-Malkin line has had chemistry from the first game he played last week. Fleurry is this year's Lundqvist. The rest of the Atlantic blows -- the Isles are ass, Philly is done, Jersey is average and slow, the Rangers are a playoff team but not that great.

You can put it on the board. The Pens will win the Asslantic.

Eulogy 10-24-2006 08:17 PM

fuck yeah

I wish they were on TV

:(

The_Ace_of_Aces 10-24-2006 08:21 PM

they're on Versus right now.

neopryn 10-24-2006 08:28 PM

this is so awesome.

if they leave i'm killing myself.

neopryn 10-24-2006 08:28 PM

Staal is fucking great already.

Eulogy 10-24-2006 08:37 PM

I don't get Versus. I'd never even heard of it before I was looking for televised Penguins games.

foxtrot 10-24-2006 08:45 PM

Shittsburg remains 7th and falling...

The_Ace_of_Aces 10-24-2006 09:16 PM

Um. Malkin is a fucking stud.

I guess if you're gonna suck balls for sevearl years, it can't hurt to draft 2 guys who will probably this generation's equivalent of Jagr and Lemieux.

falling? they're about to win their fourth in a row for the first time in 2-plus years.

neopryn 10-24-2006 09:18 PM

Malkin's goal just now was pretty much the goal of the year/

The_Ace_of_Aces 10-24-2006 09:22 PM

Yeah. I realized that this thread was about 95 percent likely to come true after that goal.

The only question is whether they will win a Cup before or after they move to Hartford.

:( :(

NEOPRYN, make your hometown bitches get their shit together.

neopryn 10-24-2006 09:32 PM

There's really no reason for them to leave. There's 3 casino companies in competition for a slots license. One group is bound to the Penguins, so if they win it, a new arena is built. This company got the endorsement of the task force, but that's no guarantee. The politicians have a solid Plan B in place in case that doesn't work out, but it requires a yearly contribution from the team and they won't commit to it.

On the bright side, they're now in first place in the Asslantic.

Fathoms (unadored) 10-24-2006 09:55 PM

Man, I hate not being able to watch this team ever. Malkin, Crosby and Staal seem like the best young trio going right now.

Eulogy 10-24-2006 09:58 PM

i think there are two nationally televised games

blahhhhhh

Eulogy 10-24-2006 09:59 PM

.....but they'll be in the playoffs. so i'll see them then.

RopeyLopey 10-24-2006 10:02 PM

heh, enjoy Malkin before he will be ordered to go back to Russia. The dude had signed in Russia, he breached law signing with Pittsburgh - and that's how it stands.

Stop stealing players, NHL.

This is not their fourth in a row and they won't make the playoffs this year.

no but this is their 4th in a row.

this team is on fire.

Fathoms (unadored) 10-28-2006 08:22 PM

Crosby has his first career hat trick tonight. Philly is going to be to Crosby like the Canucks were to Gretzky. A stats gold mine.

neopryn 10-28-2006 08:30 PM

Malkin is going to score in every game of his career.

FICTION.

I don't have a reason. I don't need one this point is so solid.

Boner 10-28-2006 08:37 PM

nate, are they really gonna send staal down to the minors? dumb.

Mooney 10-28-2006 10:08 PM

i claimed rangers to win the altantic before the season and i'm going to hold to that. lundqvist hasn't returned to form yet after being injured late last season, though, which is kind of worrisome.

ziggygaydust 10-28-2006 10:32 PM

I think the final is going to be between Philadelphia and Phoenix in the Cup finals. Penisburgh is going to drop off and not make the playoffs.

not dumb. it makes sense, unless Staal is actually contributing enough to winning games for his team that the Pens are gonna go somewhere this year.

if he plays more than 10 games in the NHL, it counts as a year of service and he'll hit UFA age at 25 instead of 26. Which year will he be a better player, when he's 18 or when he's 26? Realistically, they shoulda done that with crosby last year, except for the obvious reasons, and that he had little to prove in the QMJHL anymore.

you all who wanna watch more games need to be aware of www.myp2p.eu/NHL , it's a fantastic little tool. you need a pretty fast internet to make TVU work though.
