Hey is this a real myspace or some fake one that these songs are on? Cause if it was real I might care.

Katy Lied 10-17-2006 04:53 PM

what if Daughter was actually a cover of Pearl Jam's Daughter.

wake the fuck up dead, we decided it was real when the SP flag showed up on the site and the myspace

Katy Lied 10-17-2006 05:54 PM

even though the songs aren't connecting the play count has gone up considerably, what the fucks up with that?

Den 10-17-2006 06:00 PM

I'd imagine it's from people clicking on them trying to play them, durrr

portraitofemily 10-17-2006 06:04 PM

fyi, songs are working now... take a listen

among other things the version of bury me is live.. i miss those days of out and out guitar fun

mccririck 10-17-2006 06:27 PM

Those songs were chosen almost certainly because Virgin owns the rights to most of their later work.

porkfried 10-17-2006 06:41 PM

I couldn't get Bury Me or Daughter to play, but STRTJ played, it's a live version. It's only been played 4 times live (according to SPFC.org):

1995/02/21 - Double Door; Chicago, IL, US
1995/02/27 - Double Door; Chicago, IL, US
1997/10/18 - Shoreline Amphitheater; Mountain View, CA, US
1997/10/19 - Shoreline Amphitheater; Mountain View, CA, US

It's hard to say which one it is, but my guess, based on having heard a few of the Double Door songs, is that it's from the Shoreline.

Wonder if Daughter is live as well? It's not listed on SPFC.org as a live song...

I wasn't paying attention, so shove it!

The machine of god 10-17-2006 07:20 PM

Daughter is studio, the other two are live as already mentioned. Virgin does not own the copyright to anyone the songs, as Daughter was recorded whilst not under contract (ie copyright belongs to the band) and the two live songs are recorded by the band on tour which means unless Virgin payed for that to be done under contract the pumpkins own them two. The only people they have to answer to are the publishers for Bury Me and Take the Ray.

redbreegull 10-17-2006 08:18 PM

Yeah, they won't load for me either.

NovaFritz 10-17-2006 09:33 PM

i hope the tour is filled to the brim with live versions of songs we don't expect.

Agreed. if they tour and the set list is Bullet ,zero, rhinocerous, disarm, muzzle,
today ava adore ,tonight tonight,
thirty three and so on i am staying home. they played the hell out of those songs.

If they came out and started off with mouthes of babes and went into Hummer followed by not worth asking, then you have a show !

Floppy Nono 10-17-2006 09:43 PM

i think i'd like to see them perform a full set of new songs and maybe do an encore of 2 or so fan favorites and an equal or greater number of "rarities" from the older albums

Note that it was on the myspace first, and then we got confirmation when it was posted on the SP website... so it's not someone who just grabbed it from the site, and then put it on the myspace.

I loathe myspace

Saih 10-18-2006 12:54 AM

Billy's myspace has been a bit strange today, coming up as private and then as it normally was. When it was private this was the image displayed

well, i personally don't think the song choices symbolize anything other than "good pumpkins tunes".

Except for the fact that Jimmy has said that he is, and that he'll be giving us a pearl necklace of wisdom soon.

brendo_91 10-18-2006 03:07 AM

Hey, it's Hello Kitty Kat, Disco King and Raindrops And Sunshowers now.

So I guess you can all stop speculating that the songs on the player are indicative of the direction they're going in... because these are nothing like the previous 3.

TuralyonW3 10-18-2006 03:12 AM

having trouble playing them again though
