I think it's pretty clear to Billy that if he brought back D'arcy and not James, that that's all that would be publicized about them in the media once the band got going again. It wouldn't be about the music. Thus, it will more than likely be D'arcy AND James over just D'arcy. That's just how it is, I guess... James is viewed to be more important. I'm sure a lot of that has to do with him being the only person in the band other than Billy who was there from start to finish.

you're right, that's exactly why he's telling us the news in this oblique fashion rather than announcing it publicly. James is out, D'Arcy is in. nice call.
