ELDERLY neighbours Gordon Davis and Keith Fallows have waged war against each other almost daily for SIX YEARS after falling out over a roof terrace.

The former friends’ feud — which echoes the 1993 film Grumpy Old Men — has seen insults traded, property wrecked and even retired builder Gordon, 69, beating 80-year-old ex miner Keith unconscious with a pickaxe handle.

Great grandad Gordon — convicted of ABH after the attack in 2004 — claims Keith has HURLED bricks through his windows, sent HATE mail and RAMMED a wheelie bin at his wife Sheila, 67, cutting her leg. He also says Keith SMASHED his windscreen with a walking stick — an incident he claims is on CCTV.

In return, Keith — who has ended up with an Anti-Social Be-haviour Contract — claims Gordon INTIMIDATES his wife Doreen, 75, and INSULTS his gay son Alan, 43, with homophobic jibes.

The row began in 2001 when Gordon applied to build a roof terrace on his garage, which Keith claimed would overlook his garden in Nuneaton, Warwicks.

Gordon said last night: “It’s been torture. There have been at least four incidents a week for six years.

“He sprays workmen on my property with water, and steals produce and ornaments from my garden.

“The only time I laid a hand on him is when I hit him with a pickaxe handle and was put on probation for 18 months.

“I acted out of extreme provocation. Keith knows my mother died in a house fire in 1962 and he calls me ‘mother burner’. I’ve withdrawn the planning application but still we get hassle.

“I’ve written to Tony Blair and met high-ranking police. No one seems to want to do anything.”

Gordon said they had previously been pals, adding: “I gave him paving slabs and put up a TV bracket so he could watch telly in bed.”

Keith retorted: “Gordon beat me round the head just because I said ‘no’ to his planning application.

“He’s very good at intimidating me and my wife. We don’t feel safe. I’ve had three strokes and this isn’t doing my health any good.
