Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip

Pretty good show.

wally 09-18-2006 10:15 PM

Seriously.

Elvis The Fat Years 09-18-2006 10:16 PM

I think you're seriously lying.

Dead 09-18-2006 10:18 PM

I didn't watch it cause I read that it's about a TV network. Brian Barbour has been bugging me for a week to check it out. I watched Vanished instead, it's finally getting somewhat interesting.

That's not the picture I posted of my two VCRs.

hahaha i have a dvr with 2 tuners hahaha i can record 2 shows at once too hahaha but i dont need all those tapes and 2 vcrs hahaha

hahahaa

Dead 09-18-2006 10:31 PM

I want a dvr with 2 tuners, did you get it through your tv provider or what cause they don't sell them here unless its a dvd recorder. I haven't gone to satellite cause you can't tape 2 shows at once.

Also: fuck you, honkey.

Elvis The Fat Years 09-18-2006 10:31 PM

but i dont use it that much because im not a cock-lickin-piss-freak like you

Dead 09-18-2006 10:31 PM

Using a dvr makes you a cock-lickin-piss-freak? You're crazy man. Send it to me if you don't want it.

alisonmonster 09-18-2006 10:32 PM

does anyone watch Entourage? It's coming to Canada soon, it looks interesting.

Dead 09-18-2006 10:32 PM

I don't know anything about it but there sure is a lot of hype. I'm not really interested, maybe if I read something about it...

Oh yeah Alison, you should watch Saved, its coming here this month. I've download all the episodes from the US and it's awesome. The character development is GOOD.

Ugly 09-18-2006 10:38 PM

saw Entourage S.3 on TMN on Demand. Loved the shit out of it, can't wait to watch S1 & 2 on City

alisonmonster 09-18-2006 10:38 PM

yeah, i think i'd watch that if it was on tv here (maybe it is, i don't know). I don't really like Tom Everett Scott, but whatever, this show sounds different than the other crap he's been in.

shit, i didn't realize they had that many shows already. i've got to torrent it.

Dead 09-18-2006 10:40 PM

It's amazing. It's starting here this month like I said. It's from TNT channel I think. One of the best shows I've seen. Tom Everett Scott does a fantastic job, along with the entire cast. I can't believe I'll have to wait a year (I assume) for more. It's on the level of The Shield.

alisonmonster 09-18-2006 10:42 PM

ok, i'll give it a shot, even though i don't think i've ever watched anything on TNT except crappy sunday movies.

Dead 09-18-2006 10:43 PM

Ok. You won't regret it. They don't even have TNT here, you have to be thinking of TBS. That channel is crap.

Dead 09-18-2006 10:50 PM

Oh no it premiered Sept.13 on CHCH. You can easily download the first episode though.

it's the one show i made an attempt to watch this year (didn't even really get to see arrested dev. season 3, but that was a function of work..). but yeah, every sunday night i'd go to a friend's and we'd watch religiously, then i'd grab the torrent so could watch it more.

Dead 09-18-2006 10:55 PM

One hyped show that I tried to get into a couple years ago was 6 Feet Under. I thought it was really good but it was on at a bizarre time and went overtime so whenever I tried to tape it with my 2 VCRs I would miss the last 5 minutes. I ended up giving up on it.

Do any of you watch Bones? I love it. I'm gonna buy season 1 in Nov.

Future Boy 09-18-2006 11:31 PM

fuck off

neopryn 09-18-2006 11:58 PM

i have to say the fact that Dead and Zerospaced are friends is one of the least surprising but most horrifying things ever.

god forbid you set the vcr to tape 5 minutes over.

the first season is 8 episodes, second is 13. and now the first half of the third season just ended which was 13 episodes, the rest of the season will finish beginning in march after sopranos.

strange_one 09-19-2006 03:06 AM

Studio 60 is my fave show this year so far, next to Weeds

pale blue eyes 09-19-2006 03:43 AM

I didn't watch it last night but my sister recorded it so she could force me to watch it while she worships at the altar of Aaron Sorkin again. I liked Sports Night a lot but I haven't heard much about this show.

phaedrus 09-19-2006 09:24 AM

i saw the pilot for Studio 60. it looked pretty great. i'm excited to see how it develops.

Entourage is definitely a guys show. i'm not saying that girls wouldn't like it, but it's definitely aimed more towards a male-centric audience.

lastly, Dead proves once again how horrible his tastes are when he gives up on Six Feet Under for being 5 minutes too long.

Dead 09-19-2006 12:33 PM

How can I watch it if I always miss the last 5 minutes? Give me a fuckin break. I never knew how anything ended! It has nothing to do with taste, I said I liked it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I never remembered to because no other shows were like that. Also, it was on at 11pm on Sundays or something so it was hard to remember to even tape it in the first place.

phaedrus 09-19-2006 01:20 PM

oh, sorry. i shouldn't have been insulting your tastes. i should have been insulting your memory.

Dead 09-19-2006 01:25 PM

That'd be more apt. But the station should take some blame for the weird schedule.

Nah, his tastes are pretty bad too.

Dead 09-19-2006 01:33 PM

We're talking about a specific situation, idiot.

yeah, fuck being different. they should all just conform.

seriously though, i was just thinking the other day about how great it would be if they had more 45 min. shows. it would provide so much more flexibility with story-lines in some shows.

take Carnivale as an example. most of the episodes from that should could have easily been chopped down to 45 min. without doing any real harm to the quality of the show. 30 min. would have been too short, but a 45 min. show would have kept viewers more interested.

i think the show was fucking fantastic as is, i'm just arguing that with 45 min. slots, some of the longer shows might do better.

then, again with guys like Dead making up a good portion of the TV-watching audience, maybe the scheduling would just be too confusing...
