Official ND/Michigan Thread

I'm not gonna lie, this game makes me nervous. But, ND is #2 for a reason other than the hype, right? And Lloyd Carr has never won here. So I am hopeful.

Elvis The Fat Years 09-15-2006 05:48 PM

Official I don't give a fuck post.

sppunk 09-15-2006 05:54 PM

ND is very beatable. Michigan won't do it, but a few other teams will.

I think if they're going to lose twice, it will be to Michigan and USC. Maybe that's too obvious....but ND's offense is really potent. Teams will have to score a lot to beat them. And I think Michigan's running attack will do quite a bit of damage.

Hey man, what's up?

Eulogy 09-15-2006 05:59 PM

....and since I am road tripping to MSU, I have decided that ND will not lose that game. They just won't.

ND's ground game is really, really containable - if you can get them on short drives every-so-often, you're fine. That's what killed Penn State - they were in pretty OK shape until very late in the 2nd when ND had 17 more minutes of ball control, killing Penn State's defensive stamina.

The ground game is containable if you're not devoting all of your resources to stopping the passing game. Which most teams will have to do. Darius Walker is an underrated tailback, and any team that doesn't pay attention to him will pay the consequences.

...and there was no one thing that killed PSU. They were simply outplayed and outclassed. I don't think they are a top 20 team.

sppunk 09-15-2006 08:02 PM

Yes, they were completely outplayed but they are a much better team than that shown in that game.

They'll finish 9-3 and ranked around 17.

Yes, Catholic sportswriters.

I think OSU, Texas, USC, Auburn, LSU and maybe West Virginia could defeat Notre Dame.

FutureBoy 09-15-2006 09:02 PM

Fuck you Benji

wHATcOLOR 09-15-2006 09:03 PM

how come you're mean to benjamin619?

benjamin619 09-15-2006 09:04 PM

Im sorry, I dont care for people making threads about how they undercooked their damn pizza, and still ate it. Add in his general ass kissing of the population at large, and well, he aint my favorite poster.

benjamin619 09-15-2006 09:10 PM

me? alright but i'm starting to get bored; my classes don't start for awhile yet. in the meantime i've been catching up on a lot of reading, and that's been enjoyable. you?

benjamin619 09-15-2006 09:12 PM

what was that futureboy/future boy? i can't see it.

FutureBoy 09-15-2006 09:12 PM

benjamin619 09-15-2006 09:13 PM

Nate the Grate 09-15-2006 09:16 PM

I'm missing 45 minutes of this game, and I'm not happy about it.

All you Darius Walker haters can suck it.

oh cool. i read a bunch last week, i was on vacation. i'm pretty good, pretty exhausted. i keep hoping that a party just comes out of nowhere and starts going nuts all around me, but i think that's not quite the way things work..

coffee spoon 09-15-2006 11:06 PM

This game will be decided by 4 points or less. Probably in favor of Notre Dame.

Tchocky 09-16-2006 05:03 AM

I like Michigan's chances, and this game is gonna be close. If U of M wants to win this game, they're gonna be in for the fight of their lives. ND wants to prove they belong where they are, and for once Michigan isn't expected to do much...which may give them the opportunity to pounce.

ND 34, MI 28

Stinky Pinky 09-16-2006 06:43 AM

how bout Slaton on Thursday fellas?

PkPhuoko 09-16-2006 06:51 AM

Eulogy 09-16-2006 01:44 PM

!!!!

sppunk 09-16-2006 01:50 PM

Eulogy, please keep us posted on this game and the atmosphere, because no one here can ever possibly imagine the feelings that surround this match-up.

No one but you, that is.

TuralyonW3 09-16-2006 03:07 PM

LOL look at the bomb that Henne just threw for a score over the ND secondary. ND would get smoked by OSU again

TuralyonW3 09-16-2006 03:32 PM

well it's official. ND is not a national title contender

sppunk 09-16-2006 03:39 PM

Ah, that's the Notre Dame we all know and love.

And TuralyonW3, they never were national title contenders. Nothing more than an overhyped two-or-three loss team.

wHATcOLOR 09-16-2006 03:51 PM

i like eulogy getting swept up in the frenzy of school spirit! who knows where the next wave of emotion will carry him!

let's hear it for the era of eulogy, the college years!!

Nate the Grate 09-16-2006 04:19 PM

this sucks

Stinky Pinky 09-16-2006 04:31 PM

this means that psu REALLY sucks

coffee spoon 09-16-2006 04:32 PM

as stated here 3 weeks ago, USC-Auburn will be your national title game.

TuralyonW3 09-16-2006 06:18 PM

they lost because of Eulogy's naivete

um. what?

5 turnovers. 25 yards for darius walker. no matter how good Michigan is, that is totally unacceptable. Michigan will get their asses handed to them by OSU. ND is either a 20-25 team, or they just played like absolute shit. This game said way, way more about ND than it did about Michigan. Fool.
