last year it was a good league, at least better than was given credit to it.

I think a realistic appraisal for the results this year is:

1. SEC (Auburn, LSU, FLA - I do thing Georgia is overrated)
2. Pac-10 (USC, Oregon, ASU, but Cal loss hurt bad)
3. Big-10 (Michigan, OSU, Iowa - PSU loss hurts them)
4. ACC (Miami, BC, FSU looking very overrated
5. Big-East (Louville + WVU, and that's it)
6. Big-12 (Texas, Nebraska, CO, OU, Tech - all looking overrated)

coffee spoon 09-16-2006 09:03 PM

I think the SEC is the clear No. 1 conference.

Pac 10 and ACC are 2 and 3 and those could go either way. They are both top-heavy and really shitty at the bottom (see, eg, Duke and Washington).

Big 10 is 4 -- they are 2 heavyweights, 1 middle weight in Iowa, and a couple of paper tigers in Wisky and Penn State.

Big East is 5 simply for having 2 of the top 6 teams in the country.

And the Big 12 is 6. This conference is really weak this year. Texas and OU are the class of the conference as always. The proverbial jury is still out on A&M, Nebraska, and Tech to say the least. I actually think Missouri just may win the Big 12 North.

aggies are losing to army

bardy 09-16-2006 09:14 PM

Illinois is trying for its second national title in a row on my college football game. They are king shit because of me and the option shotgun.

Stinky Pinky 09-16-2006 09:20 PM

ACC is highly overrated

coffee spoon 09-16-2006 09:23 PM

Looking at the top 5 teams in each conference, i'd take vtech, bc, clemson, fsu and miami over USC, oregon, cal, arizona state, and ucla.

stanford may be okay

washington state, osu, arizona, and washington have all looked horrific.

Trotskilicious 09-16-2006 09:28 PM

I don't think the ACC is overrated. Virginia sucks, though.

TuralyonW3 09-16-2006 09:29 PM

I wonder if LSU will stay ahead of Texas in the polls since they're both 2-1 and TX blew out another weak opponent today

If florida loses, TX will definitely go back ahead of them.

Trotskilicious 09-16-2006 09:30 PM

I wish Texas wouldn't play teams like North Texas, Rice, and SAM HOUSTON STATE. I mean really, they play in UTSA's and sppunk's alma mater SFA's basketball conference.

in an ironic twist of fate, Rhett Bomar transferred to Sam Houston and became the starting QB

But they scheduled Ohio State - they're one legit non-conference game. I don't think slamming UT for doing everything they can to stay in the national title hunt is really worthwhile. It's the system that causes that.

Every D1 program that's worth a shit does it now. Adding the 12th game just adds another 1-AA program for them to destroy.

I mean, Penn State played Youngstown State today. Granted, they had to fill the opening in February because La. Tech backed out of a contract, but still.

It's only because they don't have D'Brickashaw anymore!

I go to WMU, so it was exciting to see my college team (which is a MAC school) beat an ACC team (even if it's an iffy ACC team).

As for ND/Michigan...if you had told me a month ago that U of M would head into South Bend and not just win, but DOMINATE ND, I would have laughed.

Weis is way too pass-happy. Darius Walker is overrated. And ND still doesn't have a defense. Still, don't go thinking that ND isn't dangerous. I see them winning the rest of their games except for USC.

If Michigan keeps this level of play up all season, they deserve to be in Tempe at the end of the season.

GO BLUE!

Stinky Pinky 09-16-2006 09:45 PM

well BC and Miami aren't that good

coffee spoon 09-16-2006 09:48 PM

sploooge, your school is tied with Arizona.

Stinky Pinky 09-16-2006 09:49 PM

splooge, you should move to ohio so you can become a osu fan

coffee spoon 09-16-2006 09:51 PM

fucking jarrett is pretty good

coffee spoon 09-16-2006 09:52 PM

huge 4th down coming in the Tennessee-Gators game

Tchocky 09-16-2006 09:55 PM

Oh, and NC State lost to Akron last week. Another one for the MAC against the ACC.

They're better than Cal and AZ State.

21-20 Florida. I hope this finish is as great as the Bowden Bowl. BC is looking great after that Clemson win over FSU.

TuralyonW3 09-16-2006 09:58 PM

nah cal would beat BC

Trotskilicious 09-16-2006 09:59 PM

I guess you didn't see them play Tennessee. They are paper tigers in the truest sense of the word.

coffee spoon 09-16-2006 09:59 PM

exacty.

really college football is the SEC and then everyone else. Florida, Auburn, Georgia, LSU, Tennessee are 5 of the top 12 teams in the country.

Trotskilicious 09-16-2006 10:01 PM

I don't care if they lose to Tenn but they got stomped. STOMPED. BC has way more fight in them than to just roll over and die after the first quarter.

Trotskilicious 09-16-2006 10:01 PM

They won didn't they?

Stinky Pinky 09-16-2006 10:03 PM

Well I have major beef with some ACC teams so I may be biased. BC is shit though....they could easily lose to, well, any team
