I cant justify spending $150+ U.S. on a series of comic books but with some pursuasive opinions, I will relent... :)

hmm... i like neil gaiman.... everyone says that Sandman is pretty much his best work.

Why can't you loan them out from your library? and then you wouldn't actually waste your money... if you really like them after you read them, then buy them, and read them again.

Nope! I've never really read comic books but I love Alan Moore's graphic novels and I've heard alot about Gaiman's sandman series because it was in development hell when it was (at one time) going to be made into a film. Apparently its one of the top 20 greatest unproduced films as the budget was always much too high for what the studio wanted to pay. Im just curious to see if it could actually be translated into a film or not.

read it ASAP. also read Garth Ennis's The Preacher
