Adult Swim kind of sucks
 

After the stoner haze evaporated, I realized that most of the shows made for Adult Swim are utter, utter crap. Here is a list:

• Metalocalypse (shame on you Brendon Small)
• Tom Goes to the Mayor
• Squidbillies
• 12 oz. Mouse
• Minoriteam
• Stroker and Hoop
• Sealab

Worst of all, most of these cartoons are ugly and poorly made. I think Venture Brothers, Robot Chicken and Home Movies are about the only good things they've made worth mentioning at all.

Sealab used to be acceptable, it's gone down hill recently. Venture Bros is good, and Home Movies is simply stunning. Robot Chicken's the same as all those other pieces of dogshit. Family Guy ruined American comedy with stupid "Random whacky duurrrr it's funny because it's so damn random and whacky!" garbage.

Simpsons in its prime > Family Guy in its prime

At first people thought Family Guy had quality writers, but then their inability to write anything NEW proved those people dead wrong.

i agree sealab is terrible after season 3 because the person who voiced murphy died, who is arguably the funniest person on that show, watch the first 3 seasons and try not to laugh

I like Family Guy, which is not to say it's better than the Simpsons seasons 3-8 or Futurama. We aren't talking about the re-runs they show. I want to talk about that shit they call original programming. Metalocalypse is simply horrible! Has anyone watched that trash? At least it doesn't look like utter shit like the grade school drawings on Squidbillies and 12 oz. Mouse.

Yes. Captain Murphy is funny, but Sealab doesn't make a whole lot of sense most of the time.

It seems like some people think the shit on adult swim is avant garde or something, my roommate was defending the shitty animation as Adult Swim promoting different art styles and I just told him cheap and crappy is not an art style.

they need to bring back homemovies and mission hill some more, maybe more aqua teen too

also, is anyone elses adult swim really loud, like when i try to watch futurama all the voices are normal volume, but then when the backround jingles come in they are loud as hell

That's total bullshit. It isn't avant garde, shitty animation has been around since 1970, and it was shitty then! Having completely idiot-driven cartoons doesn't make a cartoon anything special, it just makes it awful.

Aqua Teen Hunger Force was about as close as it gets to being terrible but still remaining a quality program. I enjoyed it. As for Mission Hill, that was a complete gem. I loved Mission Hill, and sometimes I catch it on other stations at 5:00 AM, somehow.

the worst thing about Family Guy is when they take one gag that isn't that funny to begin with and repeat it over and over and stretch it out ad nauseam until any humorous value it may have had is completely nullified and you wish you'd never seen it at all.

Yeah, that kind of stuff always made me want to kill myself as a third person viewer of the repetition. All I could do to stay alive was think of more ways of killing myself when I saw one joke get mutilated over time by driving it into the ground because of it wearing out its welcome.

nah, i love Family Guy. ATHF and Sealab as well. and don't even get me started on Home Movies.

i could never watch and laugh at robot chicken without being high. it's just too ridiculous. i liked home movies though and the brak show. harvey birdman was funny also. some anime was alright. there was this one show i'd watch every night but i cant remember the name of it.

i used to be a huge fan of Harvey Birdman, Space Ghost, Brak Show, Aqua Teen etc., but even though there's been some genuinely hilarious comedy gold there, i've gotten really sick of their random format. The parts where you go 'wtf, where did that come from' just aren't funny anymore, just irritating.
