Lost or 24

two of the only shows worth watching, i prefer 24.

The Pashing Smumpkin 09-13-2006 04:52 PM

Both! Best shows on tv at the moment...

Esty 09-13-2006 04:58 PM

Lost is a piece of shit. 24 all the way.

Geek USA 09-13-2006 05:09 PM

24.

Irridescent Fairysex 09-13-2006 05:09 PM

Lost

DeadOpera 09-13-2006 05:10 PM

prison break and rescue me are better

neopryn 09-13-2006 05:42 PM

24 used to be better but lost is better now

Debaser 09-13-2006 05:44 PM

Lost.

Because its more believable than 24.

sppunk 09-13-2006 05:46 PM

Lost.

Because 24 is lame.

The Jesus 09-13-2006 05:47 PM

Lost.

Effloresce 09-13-2006 07:58 PM

24 easily

bardy 09-13-2006 08:00 PM

24

Debaser 09-13-2006 08:05 PM

24 jumped the shark for me when it became so overtly right-wing (pro-torture & anti-ACLU storyline, thinly veiled pro-Bush dialogue, Rush Limbaugh getting grand tour on the set) two seasons ago. However the last season was a big improvement from that low point.

Effloresce 09-13-2006 08:09 PM

Haha, you certainly make a good point, I have noticed that myself. But acting overtly right-wing in intense situations makes for some great television :D

I see where you're coming from, I don't agree with all of those tactics in real life. But 24 is so unrealistic and far-fetched that the over the top interrogations and torture naturally come with the territory.

As for them kissing Rush's ass... yeah, I don't understand it, either.

Orenthal James 09-13-2006 10:19 PM

24.

kim, i will kill you.

julie 09-13-2006 10:57 PM

24.

it has been the most consistent. please ignore kim and c thomas howell.

plus eddie izzard is gonna be on this season. awesome.

The Pashing Smumpkin 09-14-2006 12:29 AM

Season 5 of 24 blew me away. Great story, great characters (except for that nigger Curtis, they should either give him characterisation or off him, he's pretty useless...) but they should have a prequel season or ideally, a season that takes place inbetween seasons 2 and 3. I miss Michelle... :o

Ugly 09-14-2006 03:54 AM

Sheesh, why would you even have to ask?

Tchocky 09-14-2006 07:49 AM

24, because it's more consistently good and less deliberately paced.

The third season of Lost, however, seems to be a little more action-packed.

ChristHimself! 09-14-2006 07:50 AM

I have seen about an episode and a half of Lost.

I have never seen 24.

JUnderscore 09-14-2006 10:59 AM

I ignore both shows equally. :hurl:

torture has been a huge part of the show since season one, hell, its a freakin plot point and in the game you actually do yell and scream at people to get things done.

And, lets not forget, Season 5 was about a sitting republican president starting a terrorist attack on his own country to protect his interests in the Gulf.

Or he was working for The Patroits and the whole thing was a conspiracy to hide Arsenal Gear, I forget which.

Anyway, its not as much Right Wing propaganda that people would dimiss it as.

I was gonna say... last year the best show of the season was Prison Break. Hard to admit it but Prison Break even beat out Lost for me and yes, The O.C.

One show I've really enjoyed this summer was Saved. GREAT show. Download it if you haven't seen it.

Oh, and I've become a fan of 24 but I felt that last season not as much was riding on Jack. For example how many times has he saved the entire city or even the country? Most of last season his big urgent goal was to expose some corruption. That's not my 24. :noway:

Quiet CD 09-16-2006 12:39 PM

where is the "they both suck because its the same fucking show over and over again that never has any realistic development or characters" option?

doesn't exist because you're completely off the fucking mark (I could go through an entire litany of how many changes each character from each show has gone through, but that would just be pointless and its well documented elsewhere) but, hey, thanks for posting and showing how completely clueless you are about both of these shows. Good job!

Yeah, there's always been torture, but that season for absolutely no good reason introduced an ACLU type of lawyer, portrayed as a swarmy snake, to come in and interfere with the torture as Jack Baur piles on him for protecting the terrorists. Aha I get it now! Anybody that tries to defend the rights of a suspected terrorist hates America!

Then I vaguely remember a scene when the weak vice president was making a tv conference to the people and Tony Almeda said something akin to "Whats up with this guy? We need a STRONG president! Not some flip flopper"; something like that. Maybe I'm reading too much into that, but I drew an obvious parallel to the bush re-election campaign with that comment.

I can still set politics aside and still do watch 24. I look forward to the upcoming season.
