I like it for organising and playing my music, but I'll never buy or play movies with it.

i do like the new shuffle though...that whole cliping aspect to it is kinda cool

The Cover Flow feature is quite handy, and there are general interface improvements (the new device manager looks useful).

I'm d/ling my album art right now. I'm sure the RIAA will be knocking on my door in a few hours.

The basic browse function is the same, but there are two new view options that add more focus on album art. It's just a visual gimmick, really, but if you like album art (I do) it makes iTunes nicer to use.

Right, as long as the library still allows sorting by artist/album I'm fine with it and will upgrade soon enough.

Do you have to upgrade quicktime at the same time? Because i don't know what version of quicktime i have, nor what version will work well with Protools 7.1.1...

No, you don't have to update Quicktime.

for mac users, i just opened the package contents of itunes 6 and copied all the icons. i can zip these and send them to you if you'd like. i'm not actually sure if that will replace the itunes 7 icons, but it might.

edit: somehow the icons disappeared.

edit3: she sent me a copy of the old icons. if anyone wants them, post or pm me your email address and i'll forward them.
