the other week I bought a 20" iMac...

and mother fucking fedex delivered the package to the WRONG ADDRESS and some random person signed for the package. I've been calling and bitching at them for three days now. The address on the order is correct so how they managed this one is beyond me. I've filed claims with both fedex and apple, so now I just get to sit around and see if the idiot who delivered my iMac to the wrong address gets it back or if apple just gets to send me a whole new one. WOOOOOOOOO.
I hope the douche bag who signed for my computer is enjoying it, and cheers to the imbeciles fedex has working for them.

Serves you right for buying a Mac. YOU'RE NOT SO COOL NOW, ARE YOU HEN? EH???

brendo_91 09-12-2006 11:36 PM

Oh shut up, this is completely on Fedex, if the address on the order was correct.

I know that was in humor, but I'm fucking sick of it.

"Apple isn't compatible with office documents because you need to BUY office for mac! OMG who BUYS office LOL!!!111!!111oneoneone" (fwiw its easily pirated - moreso than on windows because there's no activation that i know of)

"See, that's what you get for buying an Apple, you should be buying Dell, they're far superior, Michael Dell even delivers the computer personally to your doorstep!"

Fuck that shit.

Fuck it.

I just got my MacBook Pro back after 3 weeks in at an AppleCenter - not Apple's fault, but the fault of the AppleCenter. It was ready two fucking weeks ago and it took them this long to do the paperwork on it. But that's this store in particular, and I won't be going back there again.

I've had no problems with Apple themselves.

Apple are the easy scapegoat because it's an unfamiliar company to most.

BTW, congrats on the purchase, if it ever arrives. I guess you got the older model before the speed bump?

DeviousJ 09-13-2006 12:20 AM

Mac users are pretty defensive huh

Lucky Day Spa 09-13-2006 12:34 AM

How can Apple Computer, a very large corporation, reasonably be expected to defend itself? Pull the wool from your eyes, DeviousJ.

I almost wish it had been apples fault because they are so much easier to deal with than the people at fedex.
I finally got it last night. The guy delivered it to the wrong apartment on the 6th and just now retrieved it yesterday. I wouldn't have known if I hadn't been calling them every day to bother them. They sure as hell weren't going out of their way to keep me informed. I refused to have them deliver it again and just came to pick it up myself. It's the most beautiful thing ever, and zekix put 30 gigs of music on it for me because he's pretty much amazing.

yeah, literally the day after I ordered mine, I saw the new 24" and all the other crap. And now they've got the new iPod like a week after I got mine. Not like I would have bought the 80 gig anyway, but the 30gig is a little cheaper now.

if I knew you in person I'd probably feel much worse about being so forgetful. Sorry Jan. You should harass me more often. PM me the lyrics again.

MercuryChild 09-14-2006 03:06 PM

wait, so they got it back from the person who signed for it and gave it to you? or is it a new one? damn I'd be pissed if it was already in use. who knows what had been done to it.

agenda suicide 09-14-2006 03:13 PM

they got it back. I wasn't going to take it if it was opened, but the person hadn't touched it at all. It makes no sense to me why someone would sign for a package that they weren't expecting and doesn't have their name on it, not open it, and keep it for a whole week.

hmm, that's too bad. you could of gotten a new one with the new upgrades. oh wells.

Lucky Day Spa 09-14-2006 05:29 PM

Have you opened the box yet? Apple has an exchange policy where if you buy a product and it is updated or the price is lowered by Apple within a fortnight of the purchase date, you are entitled to replace your purchase with the new model and/or get a refund on the price difference. If you've opened the box on the iMac you'll have to pay a restocking fee if you want to have it replaced with the new model, but you should be able to get some money back on the iPod at least.

Lucky Day Spa 09-14-2006 05:36 PM

That happened to me when I got my iMac last year. The week after purchase they dropped the price by $500 (to clear old stock in anticipation of new models) so I complained. Took a couple of months (I expect it had to go right up the chain from retailer to distributor and probably to Apple Australia eventually) but they refunded the difference in the end.
