Catherine Wheel needs a break - helpout thread

Catherine Wheel seems a little fried at the moment, possibly from ruminating and then articulating too many amazing universal truths. It would be cruel, or even irresponsible to deprive the philisophical community of his output, so in this thread we can take over the hard work for a while and leave CW free to get a little R&R.

Birds can fly. They evolved wings so they can fly. This means they are in the air a lot

DeviousJ 03-02-2006 10:11 AM

Money is used to pay for goods and services. People who want more money provide more goods and services. This means they can pay other people to provide them with more goods and services. I call this 'the Money Theorem'

DeviousJ 03-02-2006 10:13 AM

The alphabet has 26 letters, yet we can combine these to make more than 26 words. This is the power of combining specializations. People are not letters though, so this doesn't apply to society or anything. People can make letter shapes though, like cheerleaders

this is coming too thick and fast

MY BRAIN CANT HANDLE IT

DeviousJ 03-02-2006 10:15 AM

If I eat too much, I feel sick. If I don't eat, I feel sick. This means eating is bad, and a human flaw

McDonalds sells thick milkshakes. Milk comes from cows, and after the cows are milked they make burgers out of them. A Big Mac/milkshake meal is the true cow meal experience

Jesus! I had just finished typing out the following (I was doing it in Word as I was already using it and just started typing away after seeing your first post) and then opened this thread to paste it in:

Cash or credit can be exchanged for goods and services. If you have lots of money it enables you to buy more things than if you had little money or no money at all. People with lots of money are often called ‘rich’, while people with little or no money are called ‘poor’.

It's not exactly the same, but it's still a bit odd....

Grumble 03-02-2006 10:19 AM

Maybe it's not THAT odd, but it spun my little head out, anyway.

DeviousJ 03-02-2006 10:20 AM

Sometimes a lot of people want something, and less people don't want it. Counting these people and making a decision based on the numbers is called a vote. Vote rhymes with note. You can write a note, expressing your vote. If you have a coat, you could deliver the note. Wearing coats can keep people warm. I call this 'The Coat Method'

Okay, I faked it that time.

Clearly this is strong empirical evidence for the existence of a paradigm which strongly addresses this and all situations which gravitate toward falling within its sphere of influence. The Money Theorem is going to very important for the world, and in working out the publishing deal

You think you did, but actually on some other level you were already going to type that without my input. This concept of different levels of awareness or 'consciousness' is my own creation

RopeyLopey 03-02-2006 10:26 AM

this thread makes me pray for return of CW.

Grumble 03-02-2006 10:26 AM

I wonder if any econimists have noticed money...

Praying is a way people ask for something to happen. If it happens, they thank whoever they asked and continue to pray. If it doesn't happen, they may be disappointed and may give up praying

The Money Theorem is an expanded way of thinking about trading for goods and services. By looking at the amount of money used to pay for different things, you can think about their worth and how this affects the amount people want and the amount people are willing to provide. This is taking the basic idea economists think about and expanding on it

DeviousJ 03-02-2006 10:32 AM

Chairs are furniture to rest people who are sat down. They do not make chairs for people who stand up. This is because standing up means you are not tired and do not need to rest

Yes, and it's also the German word for the number 6. 666 is the number of satan, who is connected with violence all around the world. 555 is a local area code in america. Local areas have violence gangs

RopeyLopey 03-02-2006 10:41 AM

I see you gave up on this one, eh?

You can create a hole by removing something. Forgetting is the act of remembering a hole

tcm 03-02-2006 01:08 PM

Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: Mankind. Basically, it's made up of two separate words: mank and ind. What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

I take offense to this thread.

How is it possible that CW's far superior troll actually has a worse reputation than the real thing?

DeviousJ is a person on the internet. His/her applied pseudonym DeviousJ is a combination of the word Devious meaning crafty and or sly, and the initial J which may or may not reveal something about his/her identity or real name. This means that DeviousJ is someone who will offer sweets to your child if they agree to get into his automobile.

charging money for books creates a mental turnpike. local government studies show that toll roads create resentment among ratepayers. therefore, bookstores should be mostly- or wholly-taxpayer funded, and books should be free for all. failure to do this is known as "the china syndrome"

I am human and I need to be loved. Just like everybody else does.

When two people wed, they are joining together as one person. If each person is from a different arch-type, they will have different arch's. This means that the bottom of their foot is more or less curved. This is called the family foot theorum.
