Also yesterday I started Fear by Gabriel Chevallier and, if you like Catch 22 at all, I think you'll love this.

Same tone, different war.

I might need to try this. I'm fully millennial nowadays, can't read any book anymore. completely fucked up. I'm just distracted at every sentence

so far I like it, it's like listening to a conversation I guess. I now find myself just wanting to look at the book since I can read a lot faster than someone speaks.

had to shell out $16 for the original text (not updated and revised) of John Shirley's "Eclipse" in PAPERBACK.

gross.

currently reading Harlan Ellison's "Love Ain't Nothing But Sex Misspelled"

I love paperbacks.

Last week I finished Blue Thunder: How the Mafia Owned and Finally Murdered Cigarette Boat King Donald Aronow.

It was absolutely fascinating and had some of the most incredible investigative journalism. And it gave me a renewed sense of the worthlessness of our justice system and dead-ass George H. W. Bush.

Oh don't get me wrong. My library is 90% vtg paperback. I love the format because they're so cheap and the cover art is usually amazing. But $16 is insane to me for a fairly mass produced book (popular library's "questar" imprint). Used to paying no more than $5 even for more rare authors.

Reading "when gravity fails" by George Alec Effinger. Really into it. It's as if Raymond Chandler wrote about the futuristic Middle East modeled after the French Quarter. Lots of body modification.
