Go Germany! Spain's likely the best bet to win, I'd assume.

dean_r_koontz 04-24-2012 12:24 PM

on paper it's the next toughest group after group B (Netherlands, Germany, Portugal, Denmark) and just glancing over the names in the squad it doesn't look good for the irish. However there is some room in todays football to outsmart much stronger teams so perhaps they can do something remarkeable, or just have a bit of luck.

Hopefully Schweini has gotten back his fitness after his injuries this season, he's extremely important for the German team. It would also be nice to have Mario Götze in the team but i'm unsure about his current status when it comes to injuries. I don't really trust the tactic that Germany uses though, not sure about them. I'd probably put them as the 4th best team after Spain, France and Holland.

Spain are favourites but i think they night get a problem to score goals, Villa is still out and Torres has been absolutely woeful for about two years now. Even with Villa in the spanish side they only got a bunch of 1-0 wins in the world cup. France looks really good on paper, much better than in 2010

I wish I knew personnel better, but I don't know many players. :/

well let's just say that Germany lost their latest friendly game against France with 3-1 when Schweinsteiger didn't play.
