Saw an episode of My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding last night for the first time. What. The. Fuck. Scrap metal? Drugs? Cons? Welfare? Hiding their income from the gov't? They don't even have two incomes so wtf.


Also their slooty chicks are a-maaaazingly skanky.

i don't know how so many low income/no income families get by, but they pull it off. i think it's alot easier in the UK to get gov't help though

Campaign donations from corporate sponsors.

Many of these people can't manage their finances, rack up huge debt, get declared bankrupt, get help from the government to get back on their feet, and repeat the fucking process.

It's unreal.

They steal copper pipes etc from buildings awaiting demolition. They often expose themselves to asbestos in the process.

They also steal copper from train lines causing me delays - the bastards. I also hear they steal first born children and drink their blood. Or is that someone else?

They get it from the pockets of their solicitors, either knowingly or unknowingly.

We have a huge Irish Traveler group in our neighborhood and the adjoining one across the loop. They go to our church and can be pretty obnoxious, dressing like they're going clubbing, pushing eachother down and fighting during church. They bought out two trailer parks in the suburb just east of us across the loop and they are the nicest looking trailer parks I've ever seen.

I'd like to explain just what observations I've taken from them but I don't want anyone calling me out about it. From what interactions I've had with them at church and in our neighborhood (a group (8 or 9 girls) of girls 9-13 or so just walk around the shopping centers (anywhere from 6-11pm) darting in and out of traffic, going to the restaurants and leaving without paying etc.) the show doesn't appear to be too off base. All the local shops have signs that say no unaccompanied minors allowed and they're pretty vocal about their displeasure with them.
