that was the only cool part of the whole song. the rest of it was too slow and a big meh.

but thanks for doing these edits, they look great.

Any request?

Ram27 07-15-2018 09:03 PM

machina tour version was

love watching the band speed things up a ton. i guess everything's done to a click now....fucking broadway

Fonzie 07-15-2018 09:51 PM

Is he wearing the skeleton outfit to look thinner?

paranoid 07-15-2018 11:41 PM

the whole speed up thing was something jimmy had always been against, and for the 2015 tour jimmy finally won that argument. There's an interview where JC says once they tried it at tempo BC said "hey that actually sounds really good, playing it at tempo," and jimmy said "yeah, i know!"

thanks, Jimmy.

FWIW this TEG kicks some serious ass imo.

TEG will forever be ingrained to me as a space metal song that needs to be blasted through. otherwise it's just kind of a pop song.

do siva

New Art Rioter 07-16-2018 12:54 PM

They are doing TEG a bit faster than the album version, 150 bpm compared to 143ish.

I liked the ridiculously fast version too, plus that bonus ending they used to do live was immense

Awesome job! Thank you, I appreciate it. I'm seeing them in Boston and your videos are getting me pumped up for the show. After SP played their first show the Boston show really starting selling and I believe the prices went up but i could be wrong.

I've only been able to find one video (on YouTube).

Do you have any other links ?

MyKeyZ 07-16-2018 04:35 PM

Man, we need a Solara multicam! That song is just as rocking as their classics.

fuck yeah. that's the speed I wanna hear live.
sounds like a band that actually slays and burns the lies off the soul

TuralyonW3 07-16-2018 07:00 PM

faster does not equal heavier

I introduced him to starting songs off on a click when we toured with Manson, he was like ‘it sounds so much better this way’ and I was like ‘yeah!’” Then he told a story about how one time when he was playing An Ode to No One and in the middle of the song got really into it then cut his hand and got blood all over his white drum kit.

i still love it the old way

must spread rep

 ++++ that Bercy show is the best of the tour

fluxequalsrad 07-16-2018 07:56 PM

I like it to a click in 2018. The bootleg sounds like they really got the synth wash in the chorus right. I wish they'd do 'Real Love' like this now!

coolstorybro 07-16-2018 09:20 PM

Has anybody seen vids of the For Martha or To Sheila performances?

Making that song pumped up by fast sequences -with the addition of new Uncle Fester "background scenes"- would demonstrate you to be a master at editing...

amoergosum 07-17-2018 02:04 AM

...regarding the click track...reminds me of these quotes. It's kind of surprising that
Jimmy agreed to play with a click track:

Butch Vig:
"He [Jimmy Chamberlin] and Billy Corgan really have a special dynamic...how they play. It's very hypnotic and I think that was the secret to the Pumpkins sound...it had this kind of sexy swagger in a way...very hypnotic...and...the only way I can describe it is they had this push pull thing and they were locked into each other..."

Push pull thing = speed up - slow down

---

"Jimmy reiterates how important imperfections are. Much of his work with the Pumpkins was recorded without using a click track"

https://reverb.com/news/video-drum-t...mmy-chamberlin

---

"By my own nature, i just hate click tracks and I don't like to adhere to any set meter the whole way through a song. But I don't want people to think I waver too much, either."
