most of my life I would have gone with U.S. out of ignorance, but immersing myself in some sweet ass German thrash has made me see the error of my ways.

-Metallica has two great albums (Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets).
-Megadeth has two very good albums (Peace Sells and Rust in Peace)
-Slayer is awfully "same-ey" though I like South of Heaven
-Anthrax Sucks Balls. Testament or someone should have replaced them.

-Kreator has the most impressive technical thrash of all 8 bands (if you can get past the slightly screechy vocals)
-Sodom's first few albums, especially agenet orange, absolutely fucking rip, and the vocals sound gruff and cool
-Tankard also absolutely rip on their 3 late 80s albums, and had an impressive career resurgence in the mid 2000s. The vocals are awesome, sounding like a bit less intense Chuck Schneider from Death. They pull off the rare feat of being "fun" without being silly.
-Destroyer some interesting production and a couple of great late 80s albums.

If I could only choose one band it'd be Metallica, mostly for nostalgia, but pound for pound the Krauts fuckin win.
