Weather appreciation thread

Here in Indiana, after months of blazing sunshine and cloudless skies, today's been a lovely, cloudy day, with a breeze that hints at a chilly autumn. And it's only the fourth of August. The house smells like coffee and winter and sweaters.

That sounds amazing. I miss weather. I am really looking forward to moving back to a place with seasons

You have weather

ohnoitsbonnie 08-07-2017 02:31 AM

And seasons. Wet and dry.

qwerty sp 08-07-2017 02:51 AM

Welcome back bonnie

LaBelle 08-07-2017 08:16 AM

I don't appreciate weather, everyone would be better off with no weather.

Fuck atmosphere, that's right i'm calling you out.

I want weather events. And even though the drought is supposed to over, where I live has mostly been in a perpetual dry season for years

Alice 08-07-2017 11:52 AM

Is a drought a weather event? That's not the kind I want

ohnoitsbonnie 08-07-2017 12:12 PM

Seasonality

Drought is a weather/climatic event.

Alice 08-07-2017 12:21 PM

I think you know what I mean

Bread Regal 08-07-2017 12:57 PM

It's 55 today in Denver the first week of August.

Right now my old zip code in Florida has a heat index of 106

I do! I think people either love or hate the homogenous climate of the la area. I really don't know which one I am.

Alice 08-07-2017 01:44 PM

Today will be the coolest day of the week with a high of 90 degrees. I think I'll walk the dogs

ohnoitsbonnie 08-07-2017 01:58 PM

Depending on the humidity that isn't too bad. It's been delightfully cool in NJ. Mid 80s max and fairly dry until recently when it rained. But I welcome the rain and petrichor smells

ohnoitsbonnie 08-07-2017 01:58 PM

When the rocks are warm but the rain is cool

Why'd everyone keep saying this? I was making lots of telepathic posts. Did you not receive them?

Alice 08-07-2017 02:52 PM

It wasn't too bad. Like Reprise said, 90 feels pretty good when you're adjusted to 100 plus. It smelled like grass and flowers. Also, I found an owl pellet

redbreegull 08-07-2017 03:19 PM

guys everything is weather

Seems like this owl ate another bird. There were lots of feathers and the bones seem very light. Best part are these intact phalanges.

The number and size of the claws also seems to support my bird hypothesis. You can see where the claw hooks into the phalanx. Wish there was a cool bird skull in there too

redbreegull 08-07-2017 03:28 PM

what's ur favorite cloud

Alice 08-07-2017 03:29 PM

Seems like the piece all the way to the left in the first picture might be one of these:

I didn't remember that bird's bones fuse like that. Anatomy is cool
