Any pinball players here? I saw Weezer in Penticton and was doing a little time killing before the set. Towns super boring but they have this big bowling alley and the sign said it had an arcade so I decided to strut on in. Bought a fountain soda, went to the washroom, poured a mickey in it and checked out the games.

There's this rad cabinet that I've seen popping up all over the place that has like 100 classic arcade games in 1. Super awesome. Rocked a little ms pac-man for a bit.

Anyhow they had 4 pinball machines lined up against a wall and I decided to go to town. My favorite was the "Ripleys Believe It or Not" machine. I was kicking some major ass, even so much so that 2 local boys came and gathered around the machine to watch me slay it in awe.

I had to chuckle to myself that I'd acquired an audience. Although it wasn't lost on me how the image of a 31 year old man by himself in the rinky-dink bowling alley arcade talking with 2 young boys must have appeared to the other families at the alley who were observing this.

Either way, I had a blast on the machines and never usually spend more than a couple quarters on one and I think it may be the dawn of a new hobby. I took a couple shots of the arcade with my camera, I'll post em later. The owners were all super nice while I was there. They probably assumed I was some kind of blogger or something.

It also struck me how cheap the entertainment was. 5 bucks and it's like an hour of fun. Oh, and I totally got a high-score on that Ripley game. Over 20 million. Although I never even came close to that again.

i'd say most of us are pinballs players in that case. i play about 5-10 rounds when i hit up logan hardware maybe two times a year.

I have a pinball ball I got from a broken pinball machine me and my friends found on an abandoned lot once.

Tilt Pinball Bar is opening this week and it's pretty walkable from my place. I don't drink a ton of beer these days but if I'm looking for an economical tallboy it's definitely Grain Belt Premium or Lone Star.
