GoFundMe for Beth James: the one who found Billy's stolen guitar
 

As was recommended by NovaFritz, I made a GoFundMe, on behalf of Netphoria, for Beth James, who found Billy Corgan's long-lost guitar that was stolen back in 1992. Apparently, she didn't want to accept a reward from him, because the guitar is his. That's pretty selfless of her, considering what she could have got for it from a collector or pawn shop.

I took it to be that she didn't want to accept anything from him because the guitar was his. From us, that's a different story.

I added Netphoria's name to it. I'd also be happy to add anyone else who's interested into the account privileges.

Look, I'm totally fine to take it down if it's a stupid idea. Doesn't really matter to me either way. If most of us are against it, make it known, and I'll pull it.

I guess the other thing we need to find out is if this lady would actually take the money. I guess someone could contact the Rolling Stone author. The writing on this point wasn't very clear. I just assumed the worst. I mean, who wouldn't take the reward money? Billco probably thought she stole it.

I can't help but feel that you guys should do a GoFundMe for, well, me.

I'd need to see proof that the auction creator is in contact with the woman who found Billy's guitar, so that there's a guarantee the money would go to her.

I guess technically we don't know that he offered her money. All he said was that she didn't want anything... but that seemed like it was the case because it's his guitar. I think I'd feel hyper weird asking Billy for money if he didn't offer it to me in my living room, regardless of him mentioning the $20k a while back.

She probably said something like, "And, I don't want anything for it. I'm just glad you got it back." And he said, "That's so sweet. Thanks." And that was that.

Except this is where a normal human would insist she accept something in return.

I don't mean to be a debbie downer but why should fans pick up Billy's tab?
