please help me clean up a recording

Hey - I'm pretty new to recording (ie I don't have a clue) and recorded a show by Grant Lee Phillips using a Creative Zen player.

The show (recorded on friday) means alot as GLP read out a letter from my friend about her wedding, then played a song for her, so I'm trying to find ways to clear up the audio, and take out the high end 'buzz'

If anyone feels they can help me clean this up, or give some advice I would appreciate it...

Here is the (90mb) file:

also, is it possible to get mics for creative labs zen players?

Can´t promise anything but i´ll give it a try when i´m home.

thanks, that is really appreciated :)

ok, i´ve loaded the file in cubase.
bad news is that the wave image says it´s clipping at different places.
the buzz at the beginning for example is ugly digital distortion and won´t go away.
i´ll try to clean up the rest and use a declicking/noising plugin.

next time, try to turn down the input signal on the mic if possible. :)

thanks Mr Vimes! That is ok about the digital noise, I can live with it :)

I really should get a clue when it comes to cleaning these up..but any help is appreciated :)

I should probably invest in a decent set up since I go to so many gigs!

glad you got to see the show. mighty joe moon + copperopolis are the shit.

yep it was pretty great! He took requests, and most of the audience asked for material from the GLB albums, so we got treated to tracks like Dixie Drug store, Bethlehem Steel, Mighty Joe Moon, Testiment etc..

it's taking a bit as my connection is sucking at the moment and the file is about 233MB big.
i encoded it into 320kbs as the original file was already compressed and couldn't be processed like that in cubase and to make it as lossless as possible.
i added a bit stereo reverb to it too. softens the clipping a bit and widens the stereo experience.
upload is at 85%...

Sam Vimes I love you

there you go. don't expect wonders.
i'm afraid it may be a bit quiet, i turned down the volume to avoid further clipping. may have overdone that...ehm.
