Are the pumpkins your favorite band?
?
And if they are not #1 but close, say who is ahead of them. Or just give your top 3-5 bands whatever. As for me, I've always had my bands like this: 1) Led Zep 2) Pink Floyd 3) Radiohead 4) Smashing Pumpkins but they were all really close. The last month, though, is making it more like: 1) Smashing Pumpkins 2) Led Zep 3) Radiohead 4) pink floyd here is my last.fm: http://www.last.fm/user/beniwins/ |

1. The smashing pumpkins. Been my #1 since 2001.
2. Metallica. the nostalgic high school favorite. 3. Bob Dylan. The best songwriter i've ever heard. So many eras so many different styles. others that are in my top 10 but couldn't really rank them. Bjork. She has my favorite voice and she's a musical genius. Rage Against The Machine. reason I picked up a guitar and the reason I started listening to lyrics. At the Drive In: The best punk band of all time. The Beatles: Great combination of pop and creativity. Amazing. Bright Eyes: They say he's the new dylan. I actually agree. |
Currently:
1. Dresden Dolls 2. SP 3. Nine Inch Nails 4. The Mars Volta 5. The Orb |

pumpkins are the reason i ever picked up an axe, i dont like to rate my artists anymore, i think the only guy i can pick as number one in my mind is hendrix, he is the birth of anything rock in my mind.
So, ill just list my five most favorite bands in no particular order, they all compete with hendrix for the top spot, they're all in my number 1 spot really, the amount of time i spend listening to them changes weekly Hendrix, Pumpkins, Doors, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Ray Lamontagne as of late too, guy has some amazing lyrics and voice. I think he'd be a little too folk for all these "hardcore" guys though :P Some honorable mentions would be pantera, black sabbath, rolling stones, ect |
Yeah Black Sabbath, The Doors, and Hendrix are all up there for me too.
|
metallica and tool come in at 5 and 6 i would say

Smiths and Flaming Lips are definately top notch.
I don't think anyone should say LZ, Hendrix, Floyd, or the Beatles anymore. If you DON'T like those bands then you should probably jump in a fire somewhere. |

1 smashing pumpkins 2 marilyn manson 3 gorillaz 4 coal chamber 5 static-x |
1. sp
2. placebo 3. garbage 4. silverchair 5. coldplay |
Wilco is my new favorite Chicago band. The new album is incredible, and Yankee Hotel Foxtrot is better than anything Billy will ever do from this point on.
The Smashing Pumpkins is now the Beach Boys of alternative rock. Way to go, fucktard. |

My "top three" used to be SP, Beatles, and Neil Young, but with the new album Wilco has climbed into the list as well. No order.

Doesn't "Sky Blue Sky" have an honesty this new Pumpkins shit seems to lack? I just doubt he's sincere about anything... he's suddenly political after saying publicly that he doesn't vote? He suddenly goes back to rock after doing everything but for seven years? I'm just not buying it, even though I want to...
