Grimes has referenced being influenced by the Pumpkins multiple times. Although her music isn't really rock, if you listen to Visions and Art Angels, I think it actually becomes pretty obvious they are a big influence on her.

on a slightly related note, when people say Adore and the electro-goth of the late 90s has aged poorly, I wonder if they actually listen to relevant contemporary music or if they are just talking about "rock"
